looks like ps2 only for me then, the edit mode is one of the reasons i like pes.

no good saying 360 version will be better next year, that is a bit half-hearted to me.

i reckon the interviewer should have asked seabass to put blank teams in pes6 to compensate for the german teams we are likely to miss.

I agree that Seabass favours all things Playstation. Reading between the lines it seems that Seabass is bitter that next-gen PES has arrived on the 360 before the much-delayed PS3. Konami have had over a year to develop for the 360 (which is an easy console to program for according to those in the know) so all these excuses about pressures of time don't wash with me. As a result, he's made a half-arsed version of PES6 for the 360 in the hope that many people will reconsider buying a 360 and continue with the PS2, and in time then buy PES7 on the PS3. I think he's trying to make PES6 on the 360 a failure so that he can concentrate on the PS3. Maybe Sony is involved behind the scenes?

I know some of you will disagree with this conspiracy theory but thats how i see it. And its a shame that Konami doesn't want to embrace a multi-format PES. Say what you want about EA, but they give each format their full attention and i might even give FIFA 07 a look this year.

I agree with you mate, in part anyways, as I do not think that the half ass (if it is one) was done with any bad intention, they still have a market on the 360, but then again Microsoft did come out with their misleading press release that might of given Seabass a few problems. I think that PES6 for the 360 is early code for the PC, 360 and PS3 and we will not see their real capabilities until PES7 or even WE11.

I straight away thought of a 'conspiracy theory' between Sony and Konami.
They have a long term contract with each other and Microsoft is the big concurrent of Sony. So if Konami offers us a ripped 360 version, people go over to either the PS2 version or they wait for the PS3.
...and that is exactly what they want you to do!
Pure manipulation!

twats the lot of you, all footy games on xbox 360 have been cut down due to time and money, ps3 will be the same if not worse and the hole konami ass licking playstation is bolloks why the feck would he say xbox 360 this xbox 360 that you lot just skirting the issure cause playstation is older than xbox and you just cant simply admit xbox is better but 360 and ps3 are identicle in performance even tho on paper ps3 is more powerful, therfore wasted power

So all of this is just to make us spend out £420 on a ps3 to play the best next gen pes? to be honest i think thats a load of crap. i was getting a 360 for pes but i guess it is going to be so poor that i'll end up buying pes for my psp and ps2. i'll probably still get pes on 360 but now i am gonna end up spending more to get it on multi platform

Reading what everyone has replied it looks like sony's plan is working and are going to get sales through screwing 360 owners with certain games. if they are doing this with pes imagine how many other games they are doing it with. For us european citizen i believe sony dont give a crap about us because they delaying it so much. they say that we getting ps3 in march 2007 due to a shortage of diodes used in the blu ray drive yea right. i wouldn't believe that even if they said it under oath.

Pes is and always will be the best i just very diappointed at the fact that for next gen they are not making an effort just to encourage competition between ps3 and 360 rather than just do their best to impress and encourage more next gen by making the 360 version as best as they can.

I don't feel like I can talk in sentences anymore it was quite hard to get the translation across.

I have always felt the truely next gen for PES was going to be next year as of the PS3 release date. Konami don't like to make too much work for themselves like the transfer's aren't always bang up to date at time of release. Reading that article though I felt they did so much work for the PS2 version they have maining done the same game for the 360 appart from some mean and happy faces. Next year will be a NextGen game for sure.

i thought in one of the interviews, seabass mentioned that his team will be working on the pc version for next gen pes and port it out to the ps3 and xbox360? that's y he mentioned that he PC play is easier to transfer to xbox360 than the ps3..

With the 2 console running on same processing speed (where does the 3 times more powerful in all field come from? they ran test on processing speed, rem?) and ps3 slightly edging out in graphics department, it would take few more years to see the difference.. games are also not utilising the full potential of the machines yet.. anyone played a ps3 yet? how can u judge by reading from developers' boast?

I read an official interview last week stated that PS3 will be three times better than Xbox 360 in almost all fields. To me, I think that there is a little bit exaggeration of PS3 abilities. On the other hand, there is no rumour without, let's say, truth. Therefore, I am pro PS3, moreover I trust Sony. So I suggest you to take such step and trade your 360 for a PS3 soon.

To be honest, mate, i don't think there will be a huge difference between the capabilities of the PS3 and the Xbox360. Konami have already stated that they will devolop the PS3, 360 and PC variants of future PES games from the same engine, so regardless of graphical power the games on all formats will be more or less the same.

Had the PS3 been released on time i'm sure next-gen PES6 would be a totally different prospect. However, as the 360 is a failure in Japan, Konami are obviously not devoting too much time to it because the PS3 will have the market to itself there.

This is a BAD decision. Pro Evolution Soccer is for the European market, where the 360 is selling well. 360 sales in Japan should have nothing to do with it. I find such a half-arsed effort insulting, especially speaking as someone who has followed the series for over 10 years and spent out on each new game each year. Now more than ever a proper European devolpment team is needed so that PES can stand up against FIFA in all respects, not just gameplay.

Well said Jamez, agree totally about getting a European development team in, it's exactly what the PES series needs to push itself even further and to go places it hasn't been before.

Basically, I agree with you that next generation PES will be the same on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

But I think that lots of people in Europe, Middle East and The Gulf Area (PAL regions) are waiting for PS3. thus I think it will be a big success to Sony. Of course, I support your words, a European development team is needed especially for licenses negotiations, in other words to be in the center of the event, and The European Football is the main event..............
