shooting gauge & controlled shots

Yes, i'm a newbie, so play nice.....

Three shooting related questions:

1. Is it possible to slow down the shooting guage? (a slight tap and you are almost ½ way down the guage!)
2. How do you drive a shot on xbox? (PSP = R2+shootButton, i think)
3. Controlled shots, do you see anything different (as opposed to not using a controlled shot "shoot then black button") on the screen?

Any decent tips on keeping the ball down (not a rugby shot) when shooting much appreciated.

Thx

Not really. The more you play, the more of a feel you will get for it.

I think the most powerful open play shots are when you don't press any other button apart from shoot. It comes down to the player you shoot with and his positioning. Unless you mean something else. Just find the corresponding button on your controller. It may be the black or white buttons.
3. Controlled shots, do you see anything different (as opposed to not using a controlled shot "shoot then black button") on the screen?
Take the controlled kick and then pause the game to watch how the player shapes up to kick it. To me it seems he pauses his kick animation and then kicks it with the side of his foot.

Try a very short and hard tap of the shot button. Again it comes down to the player and his positioning. Adriano on his left foot facing the right way will shoot it much harder than if he's on his right foot and facing the wrong way. Another thing to get a feel for.
Good luck.

Timing, it's all about timing... You can have a full gauge and still score... Timing I tell you... ;)

Exactly. I dont know about a full gauge but the timing and the angle are extremely important. I always try to line up the player diagonally when going for goal.

Also if you're shooting from distance, if they the special ability of Middle Shoot then the shot is probably more likely to hit the target.

If you're sprinting towards goal, take your finger off the sprint button and tap shoot. If you get it right, the ball will get smacked into the bottom corner.

I've found that to get a powerful (and usaually aaccurate) shot, you should knock the ball forward (double or single tap direction pad in direction ur running) and shoot (power gauge should be up to 3/4 full depending on distance). It usually works for me, even if the player's shot power and accuracy isn't very good.

Hope it helps.

timing is important when shooting the best way I have found to hit one from distance is to either have the ball passed in you'r running line.As you come on to it hit it first time or when sprinting at full speed let you'r player tap the ball in frount of him and as he runs up to take the ball further up the pitch strike it.
