Should your rating suffer for a yellow card?

I've been playing the BAL mode and noticed that every time i have been booked (which to be fair isnt very often), i have ended up with a poor rating. Obviously the game is penalising you for getting a yellow card but i am not sure that it should

In real life, when discussing who has been the man of the match, you will never hear a commentator saying "well, he has been brilliant today, but then again he did get booked". In fact, sometimes a player is specifically told to wind one of the opposition up and, if they get booked, it is seen as a very small price to pay for putting a star player off his game

Fans are often happy enough to see one of their players booked if it comes as a result of being ultra commited during the game and thats what i want my player to be. I want to be chasing people down, diving in for tackles and generally giving absolutely everything for Sunderland- if a player did that the fans would absolutely love him and they wouldnt care that he occasionally picked up a yellow card so Pro shouldnt make it less likely that you could be the best player on the pitch simply for one rash tackle in my opinion

i agree with you here, its just more annoying that the ref is card happy at the worst of times

the ref is quite card happy and does seem to book people a bit too regularly but, when looking at the after match stats, i tend to find that i end up with roughly the same number of cards that a team would expect to get in real life so, at least in that respect, it works out quite well

I just wish that i had the chance to be a highly competitive player without knowing that any slightly misjudged tackle will result in me getting a rating of between 0.5 and 1.0 less than i could otherwise expect

They never seen to ever back down and what would have been a perfectley fair challenge in real life is a yellow or red in PES...

I definetely agree with you mate, the ratings shouldn't drop if you recieve a yellow card. It should for a red card obviously, but for just a yellow it would be stupidly harsh. I haven't been booked yet on my BAL career, but saying that, I'm currently at OGC Nice and I'm currently on something like week 12 in the first season. I broke into the first team squad after 7 weeks, but I'm stuck on the bench at the moment. I've made 4 appearances so far for Nice but still yet to cement a first team start, probably because by the time I'm subbed on, there's no time to produce anything of real quality.

Its 50-50... Maybe the ref is a bit harsh in some of the cards he gives out, but as for counting towards your rating... If the rating was down to your manager, and you took some one who was just about to score, I'm sure you'd get a 9.0 rating.

But hey, at least the refs don't give you 3 yellow cards. :)

you cant even admit the refs are too card happy on pes and send you off for getting the ball first and then the player trips over your sliding leg, only from you doing a perfect challange?

at the end of the day a yellow card is given for a challange that you have been warned for doing maye 3 times, or if you have caught somebody, not for your first challange of the game and you clearly have got the ball and this will now result in your ating taking a hit no matter how well you go on to play in the match

What the hell you on about now... I said maybe the ref's can be harsh at times! Read before you quote me next time.

I have taken players out that have done somersaults, did I get carded? Nope... Some times you can get away with murder others they will penalise you for the smallest offence. That's how it should be. Some times you win, others you don't... The best example and I always piss myself watching it is when a player kicked the ball towards Rivaldo then he went down clutching he's face... Did that player deserve to get sent off? I'll let you answer that, seen as you know everything else.

My one main gripe with PES is the offsides... Not in any PES have I seen offside decisions wrongly given. They are always spot on... I wish lino's was like that in real life ...

What you going to cry about next? The players finger nails are too long? My god....

exactly! MAYBE <<<<<< THATS WHAT I'M ON ABOUT
its all the time its not 50/50

like you said you fouled someone, sent the somersaulting and you didnt get carded, not harsh for you i agree, but again its clearly the wrong decision by the ref

as for rivaldo, i'm sooo glad you brought that up because i was at that game :D
at the time nobody was looking really, that includes the fans, ref and lino, all they caught was the player booting the ball at rivaldo and him going down clutching his face, the ref and lino put 2 and 2 together and made 5, they didnt have a video or nowt to view, so at the time i agreed with the ref aswell.

i agree with you with the offsides, but fifa did that and i'm sure i remeber pes fanboys calling it crap, and yes, that includes me

Does pes 09 has the same ref for every game? I remember from previous pes (forget what ver, but it should be before pes 08) that we can choose our ref in exhibition match. The worst card-drunk ref is the japanese ref (forget his name in the game, maybe kazuki ito if i'm not mistaken). Maybe pes 09 has this system too? That different ref has different personality? I know that in exibition pes 09 don't have the option to choose your ref.
