What does everyone think of PES 2018 so far then? What would you change if you could?
I think there are some definite positives. The remodelled players are much more life like. All the additional licensed European and National teams are more than welcome. The gameplay feels a bit more fluid than PES 2017 in my opinion.
The thing that lets it down, as usual, is the UI and the commentary. I can't see how Konami continue to ignore this aspect of the game every single year. Gameplay is king, I know, but these things just seem to be ignored. The trouble is with Konami, they always seem to shoot themselves in the foot. They make a huge effort to make it the best edition ever (which it is I think) but they go and do something incredibly, ridiculously, lazy like not updating half the licensed teams kits? Can you imagine, an annually released sports sim not updating the kits?!!! I know this will be done in the data pack, but come on, that is schoolboy error number one isn't it??
Overall, I think it's a job well done, but Konami really need to get more professional in the future if they want to be taken serious against their rival. FIFA maybe average (I tried the demo and it's soulless and lifeless as usual) but at least they get the basics surrounding the game right. And that should be the EASY part, shouldn't it??
