I can't seem to burst away into space even with a player who has a 90+ explosive power (speed). Some lousy anim by the player and before you know it, the ball is already taken by your marker. Players like Valencia (who always rely on that) become useless.

Worthless stat.

no it is not,, and its not speeed it is accelaration agility ,,just because it is high doesn't mean it is guarnteed to work and blow straight through defenders you still have toknow how and when to use it for maximum effect and thats the way it should be, dont want features turned into arcade style power-ups thank you very much

Explosive power is the speed of a players reactions (i.e acceleration and agility) the power to burst away from players, using R1 and R2 the second you receive the ball gives you that burst of speed, which is derived from the explosive power. In real code terms for PES, its the speed the animation processes at.

Oh.. ok.. Will have to figure out that then. I had tried last years FIFA (after a very longtime) and I found something that I liked in it, pressing the right analog stick to a particular direction to burst into that space/direction. Thought it would be something along that line.

Explosive Power, when running away from defenders is only effective in the first 2 seconds, or when a forward needs to escape from a tackle or a shrug off attempt by a defender.

I find it quite useful, though it doesn't really help much in bursting away from defenders, like it should.

Run around and nutmegs are greatly assisted by high explosive stats. Hold R2 as you are approaching your marker(s) and then dart past him/them with R2. Hazard is an absolute master of this.

Ben arfa with a bit of stats boost is great at his. I move towards a defender then use R1 and the burst of pace is unbelievable. Infact its so qucik that the animation looks like it floating.
