So which camera angle do you play on?

BELIEVE
The reason behind this thread is because of the beauty of the camera angle I now play with: Broadcast 1 (I believe).

All throughout my PES experiences (dating back to 98 now), I've played generally with the standard Normal Long camera view, only changing it the odd time to possibly the Wide view (in order to see more of the field - better at judging passes etc). However after testing a few camera angles last week, I can safely say I'm addicted to the Broadcast 1 camera angle. Not only can you fully appreciate the graphics as it's a touch closer and lower to the action than Normal Long, it also adds that element of a realistic broadcast as well. In my opinion it is a wonderful camera angle, and while it is probably ever so slightly more difficult to judge an angle of a shot every now and then, a refreshing challenge is what it is.

PES 2010 is the start of a new era for Konami, and for me, camera angle too - out with the old and in with the new.

I play with normal long, but i do have a 24 inch screen 2 feet away from my face. It works well for me.

But I will definitly try to give broadcast a go. Sounds interesting. The only problem is I would never be able to play it that way with my mates.

Wide with camera tilt (Kitserver tweak) set at 5. Setting tilt at more than 15 makes the game look very realistic but the directional control mappings are screwed up since it's only a hack and not an in-built camera option.

Also, the new Kitserver has level-of-detail (LOD) tweaking which, when done at proper levels, makes the game look incredibly detailed.

I was playing exclusively with normal long and didn't see much sense in using any other camera view, but then I tried Broadcast 1. While at first I hated it, after one or two matches getting used to controlling the players from that view, I'm now stuck on it.

Like you say, it really shows off the beauty of the game, but it also has functional advantages. Even though it's closer to the pitch and you lose some width, it gives you a better view of players who may be open for cross-field passes.

I play with the normal camera angle. It's just what you prefer really.

No doubt. From a gameplay standpoint, all the camera angles have their pros and cons, so I don't think any one can be considered the perfect angle to play with, but normal long is probably the most balanced.

broadcast is cool....but it is almost unplayable! I can barely see what's going on. Normal long or wide for me.

I play on wide, x360 version

anyone else notices different speeds of the game? Mostly I tend to think online play is a tad slower (which I prefer) to the offline experience.

But, I think that in normal long the game is also a bit slower than wide.

Anybody else an idea about this? Or tips to get the same "slower" game speed offline as in online?

cheers!

I've always played with Normal - Long up until PES 2010. About a week ago I switched to Wide and now I love it. I didn't like it at first cos you can't recognise the players as easily as your further away. But it so much easier to see your teammates and pick out the killer pass!! :)

how come I dont see any change even when I change tilt to 9?? is there anything else I need to be doing?

Try setting it at 100 or 200, the change will be quite obvious by then. It won't look any different when the camera's showing the middle of the pitch, but when the play goes towards either end of the pitch, you will notice that the view becomes almost perpendicular to the goal, instead of being parallel -- which is the case with the default Wide/Normal camera angles.

If you still can't see anything different, maybe you need to re-install kitserver -- get the latest version, copy to PES2010 base folder and run setup.exe.

Thanks for the advice. Might try it out mate. I've always used normal long.

Normal long. I have tried the other angles and would love to use the '1st person perspective' (real football playing view), bu I find it's too awkward to use.

I started with wide but just switched to normal long today and it's great. Looks awesome and I play better on it.
