I heard you use Paint to get the grid etc. onto the image but I am not 100% sure about this. I wouldn't mind knowing how to use this sort of thing as well.

I once saw some little guide over at another forum or was it here...

well never mind... i'll post up the info... ;) i've done a few logo's and badges myself and i must say they look sharp :D

first, get a picture of the logo/badge you wanna create from whatever source you require. save it as a bitmap (.bmp) and then open microsoft paint.

open the pic in paint, then click image on the toolbar. click attributes. ensure the units are pixels and not inches or cms. lets say for example the values are width 64 and height 60.

the size of a logo edit square is 32 pixels by 32 pixels so you now need to divide 3200 by 64 and then 3200 by 60. this will give you numbers you will need. (50 and 53)

now close the attributes and click stretch and skew. in the horizontal box enter 50 and vertical enter 53. this will shrink the pic down to the perfect size.

next, click view and zoom. choose custom and enlarge to 800%. also turn on the grid (found in the same menu). now you can either print screen or work from your monitor. there you have it! this is your guide for your design.

the size of the badges are 64 by 48, so you should use those figures for badges. Divide 6400 and 4800 by the size of your original logo and stretch and skew as mentioned before.

The only problem are the colours, but if you take one which is close enough, people get the point…

Hope this helps out...

PS. here's one of my attempts at creating the Lotus Cars logo for the away Norwich City Kit...
