Wow every thread boo hoo, boo hoo, everyone plays with same teams, I can't win, I never play with a big team, usually i play with benfica, and I have a 620 rating, i beat all big teams, with no cut backs, no garbage. I play the right way, build up play, strong defense. You have to learn tactics, switch your formation, play counter attacking futbol at times. Man, stop crying, and making excuses. The only thing that i read that is legit, is the lag, (cheaters). It is sooo easy to defend the cut backs (U must use your goal keeper). Man up, stop crying and makin excuses. I'm going to start a online league, with table, wins and losses, no point system, all teams availible, one condition, once that team is takin its gone.

I agree with you 100% I dont care what team I play against! Im so used to defending the super players like Ronaldo Messi etc that it really doesnt bother me! Who ever said they weren't beatable? I always beat those faggots with Bordeaux, so what? It's just fucking annoying to play the same teams agaaain and agaaaain and agaain (and I'm not even talking about playing the same tactic all the time - pass to Messi/Ronaldo and ruuuuuuuuuun).

first bit is not true..if TWO people know how to play the game then the teams are not secondary

I pounded the hell out of this loser last night... He picked Barca and said "hello" and I replied, "good luck trying to run with Messi, lol".... He replied "we'll see"
I beat his ass 5-0 and was going for more but ran out of time! I had 20 shots on gol he had 2. Neither one with Messi or Ibra. I saved the highlights because my goals were really class... How can I post them here for you guys to enjoy?

People need to leard how to defend, whether its cutbacks, Messi sprinting, early crosses what not. They re all defensible if you know how to play defense! The only time your defense should fail you is when you have button lag, other than that there are no excuses. Plus im tired of the cutback cheese bs! I see teams in do them all the time! I even posted some Youtube links of Barca scoring with cutbacks, Italy in the 2002 WC and more. Just DEFEND, its the funnest part of the game for me honesly!

Being able to teach [Barca and Real boys] a lesson once in a while is fun yes, I do it too.

However, having to teach them a lesson every single time hurts.

Have nearly been doing nothing else since PES 2008 online.

The level and quality of online games could be improved if people can be forced to choose teams without superstars that can run around the pitch and walk in the goal.

Honestly, I find it hard to believe that someone has never said to themselves "why do they always choose barca".

Note that barca here is a metaphor for all the top teams.

If every now and then you just wish you could play against an average team, [an option to prevent this] could just be enabled once and then switched off again.

I understand it could get boring to play the same teams over and over again but its the way it is, people tend to pick big teams, teams that win championships and are in the spotlight more than the lesser teams. This is not a PES phenomena, go play NBA2k10, most games will be against Cleveland or the Lakers.

Let me tell you something, there is no way of defending cutbacks because the cursor switching AI in the game is crap and often don't switch to the player you wanted to, so even if in your head you know how to defend cutbacks (sure, its EASY, just switch to the defender that is inside the box and cover the player the cut back goes to), but most of the times it will end up in a goal because it won't switch to the player you wanted (most of the times it will switch to the player that is chasing the cutbacking player from behind).
Same with early crosses, there is pretty much nothing you can do because the defenders become a bunch of retards and the keeper just stands there watching the ball flies right next to him (and even if you press triangle like mad he only goes out after couple of seconds and its too late), so don't tell people they "need need to learn how to defend", scoring most of those goals is using the exploits of the game.

Yeah, and what happens if the guy does know how to play and picks Real and you pick Benfica? Chances are you'll get your ass owned.

You heard the saying " a good big boxer will beat a good little boxer", well the same applies here. A good big team player will beat a good little team player.

Beating a shitty Real or Barca player is piss easy, try beating someone 650 plus with those teams. It's tough, especially when the game is scripted and has your own defenders kicking the ball against themselves and scoring own goals.

So how do you defend Ronaldo when you slide tackle him, connect and he somehow still keeps the ball? You can't barge him off it. The guy has bodybuilder strength and Usain Bolt pace. Tried man marking, it works with the crappy players. Does nothing against the good players

Im not the best player in the world and I dont claim to be but I know how to defend. As for cutbacks, early crosses etc... I try to prevent them before they happen or.....

DEFENDING CUTBACKS : an simple way to defend them is this.... you pressure the dribbler with your secondary defender, and with your primary defender you slide back into the where the path of the ball will be and you cut off the cut back pass. Practice it and you'll get good at it.

Im not trying to be or sound like an ass but im serious, there are ways to defend these things if you practice and dont get frustrated .

Of course there are ways to defend, and I AM doing the things you mentioned to prevent cutbacks and most of the times successfully, but the fact is that out of 10 times they try to do it in a game, at least one will end up in a goal, if not more.

As for early crosses - pretty much nothing you can do to prevent them before they happen, played this guy who used england with Wright-Phillips and Lennon as LWF and RWF and all he did was running with them and early crossing scoring easy goals, there was nothing I could do, Lennon and Wright-Phillips were just unstoppable due to their speed :angry:

I bet you just run down the wing with your fastest player and cross all the time. Don't tell me what tactics to use...nobody declared yours the best but yourself. And if someone complains about super team users who spend their entire game making love to R1 button, they have every right to!

even though i never bought pes10 ,i feel compelled to agree with championsleag ,i know its fustrating when your opponent only goes for the quick player down the wing and the cutback ,it does feel cheap ,ive even complained about it myself on previous versions ,but the fact is ,hes right ,its football altho the end product might be different in real life compared to pes the fact remains most teams open other teams up by having quick tricky wingers

the reason so many ppl get caught out by it ,is because they just throw ppl forward and then expect the computer to automaticaly bring them back too ,the game online makes you think more ,so naturally you have to be tactically more aware ,because your playing a real person instead of a computer program ,the opponent is going to be more direct with quicker passing you have to learn to adapt to it

firstly you have to slow down the runner ,block their runs ,block their passes make them turn and face their own goal if possible this buys you precious time for your players to get back in numbers and more difficult to pass through ,you have to learn to not press the "team mate pressure" button and pull your own players out of posistion ,untill the time is right to do so ,infact the only time you should be using it ,is as stated somewhere else in this thread when your posistioning another defender ,by keeping your defence in posistion and not using "teammate pressure" wether your defensive line be deep or high means even a normal flat back 4 will be covering all the space in the width of the feild giving you the opportunity to stop this type of run before it can be of danger

then you have to learn to defend from the half way line keeping your team compact and difficult to pass and run through ,the best way to do this is pressure the ball carrier with your forwards while leaving your midfeild and defence in posistion ,this greatly reduces any space for the opponent to exploit and makes any ball played forward ,more risky as the chances of the ball been intercepted or the ball carrier tackled are much more in the defenders favour

this is just a simple defensive strategy that most players online dont follow as they are too busy trying to wow the opponent with their attacking abillities that in it self is the worst strategy of all

football is a team game using all eleven players on the feild and using all of them to their strengths

Everything you wrote is all nice in theory, but YOU try stopping them fast players blitzing through your wing, almost impossible.

just because i never bought it ,doesnt mean i havent played it or played it online ,the reason i havent bought it and will not buy this years version ,like many i feel the game no longer impresses,but trust me no matter which version of the game you play the above tactics i have mentioned as well as a little defensive know how works well against computer or human
