Ok so the endless FIFA vs PES debate can be settled by looking at the respective covers of the games and who endorses what.

FIFA - Kaka & Rooney
PES - Messi

OR to put it another way

FIFA - Overhyped style over substance
PES - Pure class if somewhat unpleasent to look at

This thread is purely a bit of fun you understand but feel free to discuss the relative merits of both if you see fit ! For the record Im no Fifa hater it has its place I just prefer PES.

as a pes only player. until fifa 10 i hadnt touched fifa for over 5 years just refused to.

fifa has GREATLY improved and SOME elements of gameplay are better than pes.
for me shooting on fifa is its biggest let down just doesnt feel like a real shot.

but in all this pesness for me last years pes was a discrace and this years is BETTER THAN LAST but not all the crap alot of people are hyping it up to be. purely because last years was so bad they have changed some parts making it better but there is far to many major flaws in pes 2011 to give it all the hype. its still a step backwards and as someone stated is a cutback in reality.

running (big debate but end of the day 20m 50/50 hyypia the turtle v messi) DRAW. come offit konami.
constant videos of every foul.
none controlling of players. costing constant goals and comp making passes you simply cannot control the player near it.
doesnt feel very smooth at times still a very square feel about the game.

About Messi in PES: The cover, the cover of the manual, de wallpaper at the menu and de CL introduction video... Big overkill!!!

But I understand why the Japanese (gamemakers) love him. He is short, fast, has technique and he is no irritating arrogant prick like Ronaldo.

I understand why Rooney and Kaka are on the front of the FIFA cover. I think that is toally based on stats of the last year.
