HI guys, Im new to the forum.

I really enjoyed last years BAL mode but I stopped playing after 3 seasons after a freak incident led to me somehow erasing my savegame file.
I have just started on the new one and will document my progress....

Like a few others I created a SS. In my exhibition match I played pretty well and scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory. I then got offers from Aston Villa, Fulham and Bolton.

I was torn between Fulham and Villa, but chose Villa in the end due to the clubs overall rank being higher than the other 2. I'm already regretting my choice though as competition is fierce with Carew,Agbonlahor and Heskey all very competent front men.

My first training match I was played as AMF just behind Heskey,we both scored and I got a rating of 7.0 whist he got an 8.0.The next week he made the first team and I was played as SS behind Carew. Didn't play so well and got 6.5,then following match was played as lone CF. We won 1-0 when I took a shot which the keeper saved then was an easy tap in for downing.
So far I have played 5 training games and I have just made squad A in training. Up until now only scored 1 goal in training but I have been consistant overall with accurate passing and taking alot of long range efforts that are on target.

Will keep you guys updated with how I get on!

Started mine yesterday as a AM on Regular difficulty!

Had a decent scouting match where I scored one, assisted one, won 3-0 and got a final rating of 7.5. Signed to Aston Villa and made my first team debut against Everton at Fixture 8 (set up a goal, but still lost 2-1). Currently 9th in the league with a goal and three assists credited to me (not counting inter-squad matches) and facing Arsenal in Round 2 of the cup.

Got my Focus Points set at...
Technique (kicking) at 3
Technique (dribbling) at 1
Balance at 3
Power at 2
Speed at 3
Stamina at 0

Will post up my stats later once I've completed my first season.

I've got a feeling this year's BAL is having a bug..
The stats are increasing so fast..the player will have all stats 99 at the age of 25..
I hope it's not the case..it will make it completely unrealistic..

I played one game, on Regular same as last year and set-up 2 and scored 1. Took me about 7 games last year to score. All a bit meh, really. Seemed far easier to move, get passes to your team-mate and shoot.

My biggest gripe is, it didn't seem to let you change out the leagues and there's no way I can be assed to edit all the English teams after trying to put the Nike and Fly Emirates logos on the Arsenal shirt and that grid system being even more ruined than usual. There must be a 5mm square where you can place things for them to actually fit on the front of the shirt.

I'm not buying the stupid Xbox camera, so I probably will go back to PES09. I'm sick of editing being hamstrung on the 360, in light of how it's even harder to get it right this year.

How is that? Getting 3+ in 18 weeks is something... awsome and somehow, unrealistic I feel.

My guy has a stamina rating of 85, so it's no big deal. The only other stat that'll go up slightly less is Response, but even then setting Speed at 3 offsets this mostly.

Maybe this year's bal is much more based on how you play therefore less scripting?
Anyway I think it won't be the case of all 99's, but if you're playing better and better, why not the sudden stat increase? It makes sense. Look at pato and messi for example. They developed really fast.

Unrealistic yes, but the mode is too shallow to be realistic, there is no point playing in such a way that forces realism, however the game is barrels of fun online with 4 players, so having a good set of stats as quickly as possible is why I do it :D

^So what do you do to develop the player better? Using 6 blocks and 6 blocks and change them after each match?

sth strange happened today. I was playing for the training match, 1assist, scored 2goals, and got a yellow card. Rating was 7.0, defensive rating was C i think (played as a right midfield). anyway, the main point was that that match performance actually DECREASED the manager confidence. I wasn't that bad was I...? lol
Happened to anyone before?

Put all Blocks in Stamina and Speed,

Score 1, Assist 1 and Intercept 1 every game and you will get huge ammounts of Red XP like in the 3rd Picture :happy:
