I am in my second season as you know. In the mid season I decided to go to Ajax from FC Groningen (they're so bad).. I didn't have any training matches with Ajax. FIRST MATCH WAS AGAINST MY EX CLUB. FC GRONINGEN. . We got a draw and I scored it (lol, my first goal was against me ex club). BTW I was substituted in the 60th minute. Then came the 2nd game in which I was substituted. I didn't do great, then in the 3rd game I was substituted again and I got an assist for the winning goal. I got an 8.0. Now I in first team playing as a RWF with Ajax.
BTW HOW come I made him play left side only and every team is playing me on the right side?

But on pes 09 I made a test and made WF playing on left side only and left footed. Then they still played me a right midfielder.:shocking: But I o not know about pes 10 as I didn't try it.

I've been played a full season on both sides (switching back and forth, mostly staying on the right) as an SMF in Liverpool once (on 09).

And I was a CF, which was kinda weird.

Yes, but the stats will change according how you play in the scout match. In the ps3 it's the same thing. You have a given starting stats, then you play the scout match and they will increase according on how well you did.

I disagree. I played a lot of scout matches just to check the relationship with the performance and I can tell you that it's random. What it seems to happen is that you receive random stats, whose "range" depends on your physical characteristics and position, BEFORE you start the scout match. That's why we have sometimes the impression that you did very well in one aspect during the scout match and then we "earned" more points for that. It's the opposite! We had already that stat at that level since the beginning.

What the performance in the scout match does, it is to determine the rank of clubs which will be interested in you. Better performance = higher ranked teams.

Also as for the scout match. The starting stats are random before the scout match but you decide them with how you play + rating.

For example: I play as CMF. I had lots of scout matches where I did not miss one single pass, and in many of them I got assistances. My ratings were OK (between 6.5 -7.5 or even 8.0). My initial stats in pass? Pass acc. 62-63, Pass speed. 69-70. In two games where I did not complete all passes and I did not make any assistance or possibility of score: Pass acc. 66(!) Pass speed. 72(!!). WTF??? And I made the same observation regarding the shoot and other stats. C'mon: goal keeper ability: between 48 and 52. I did not do anything related to goal keeping! Shouldn't this stats just be, let's say.. 50 for everybody? It changes in a range because it's also random.

The only explanation I got was that the initial stats are generated random (but the physical characteristics and position do count!).

I highly doubt it.

Your stats might be better suited to a winger than a striker.

:unsure:. But consider that the rating in the end matters. Maybe when you missed some passes you had better rating in the end and thus why the better passing accuracy. Maybe. Anyway I agree that luck plays a part in BAL.

^Could be. But even the right winger before me was better than me (Walcot) and he still played me on the right. So far I played a RMF with F.C Groningen, RWF with Ajax and RWF again with Arsenal. Realy starnge when I ticked LEFT side as my favourite side. BTW, this only seems tobe the case when you select WF as a starting position because in pes 09 on my first BAL I was a SS and Inter used to play me as LWF. So that's why I am thinking that this is a glitch.

Anyway an update on my BAL.
I am with Arsenal and we are doing great. I am in first team after 3 matches and I am 2 goals behind the top scorer (yakubu). I am top scorer in Europa league too. Arsenal are awesome to play with.

It's definitely more difficult than last year (I play 5 minute games on Top Player), but now that I'm just over halfway through my first season, I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Whereas last year, I basically dribbled my way to the goal all the time (and often felt as though I had to do this, as my team mates would let me down otherwise), this year it's all about team play.

I've started scoring goals and they've all been from inside the box, following some good football and an assist from my team mates.

I'm really enjoying it and pleased that there's an extra league to conquer this time around.

Update: Starting as a CF, I signed for FC Utrecht, but didn't even make it into the first team (two substitute appearances) before signing for Ajax in the first transfer window. I spent the next two and a half seasons there, playing CF in a 4-3-3, scoring only about 20 goals in total and getting about 10 assists. We won the KNVB Cup during that time, but came second in the league twice.

After three seasons in the Netherlands, I turned down an offer from Liverpool (playing for Arsenal is my long-term goal) to sign for Marseilles. Played as a WF (both sides) for the first half of the season and was just beginning to get frustrated with this, when my stats went up again and they moved me into the middle. With my overall rating now in the 80's, I started scoring more goals and got over twenty in my second season at Marseilles, which won me the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award. Also played in the World Cup for my national team (Scotland) and surprisingly came third, winning the Top Scorer award.

I've just started my third season in Marseille (age 22) and my overall rating will soon be hitting 90. I plan to move again next season, perhaps to Serie A.

To all those people who are struggling in the early seasons, it really does get much easier after a few seasons and compared to 2009, my stats have gone up a lot faster, due to the increase in 'match points'.

Special abilities

There was a table with the special abilities in last years forum. I have found it. But it really doesnt explain how you attain the special abilities. Does your stats have to be 75 in each or 80 or something else?

If you sprint around too much you'll get subbed at the first break in play after the 62nd minute (it seems)

Also...Why is REGULAR sooooo piss easy. It''s like the beginner skill level of previous years. I played at regular for my first season to speed early progression.

It was way too easy really. Ended up with about 35 goals for West Ham. broke into England team and scored a bagful of goals including 5 against Nigeria in the World Cup after coming on in the 64th minute !

Signed for Man City close season. Just murdered the game for the whole season.
Won everything. (Still getting subbed every game..which is BLOODY ANNOYING coz you cant stop viewing even though theres that choice in the menu.

3rd season went to level 4. WAYYYY harder. 15 matches in and I've only scored 3 and about 5 assists. We lose if I dont play 'king of the playground' style and go back and help in defence. The CPU makes my players do the crappiest things. It's a joke. I can only image what 5* is gonna be like.

I know what you're saying . In professional the AI cheating is too many. But you get used to it. But it still annoys me too much.
I am a WF and in 100 matches I scored 75 goals. All on professional.
First year and a half with FC Groningen as a RMF. Then moved to Ajax in the mid term of season2 and now in season 3 with Arsenal playing also as a RWF.
Anyway my 100th match was with MAN UTD and what a better way to celebrate it than with a well placed goal.
