How do you deal with the lack of speed having Downing and Bentley as side midfielders ? I got bentley myself, but he's more a passing player without speed. Of course he tends to swerve and also positions himself occasionally as RW/LW. So... my question how do you cope with that problem?

I buy players - and regret it. Restart the team and build again. Thats the fun part. Finding players and making a team.


I need some advice. I think i am unlucky all the time, the truth is that i am crap. How should i play? I tried a 4-5-1 and did ... well well. But all the sudden i get loses in a raw...

I still don't get you. It is NOT the fun part to buy players, regret it and reset your team? do you maybe mean that the fun part is to build a decent squad and you have problems doing so?

Good question, well put pstroink.

Short answer. I try to play a quick passing game (no sprinting about like a mad man) to pull the opposition players out of position and create space, my strikers are the only ones with a bit of pace just incase I can play them in behind the defence.

Long answer. There’s no hard and fast rule really its taken me a while to develop a style of play I like but I suppose that’s the beauty of football, after 360ish games I’ve still not notched up 100 wins but I’m creating more chances and scoring more goals and getting up to Div4 yesterday felt like a real triumph.

Personally I build the play from the CB’s through the SB’s and CM. When you get into the final 3rd of the pitch the opposite works well so CM to CF and a 1 touch through ball out wide tends to give enough space to get a cross in or at least win a corner, as the opposition CB closes down the CF the SB ‘s tend to close down the SM so it leaves a gap behind.

The most important thing to consider when deciding on you tactics/style of play is getting the right player for each position (not necessarily the best player for each position) , for my passing style of play balance, passing speed and accuracy, agility and responsiveness help.
In terms of actual tactics my SB’s can both get forward and put a cross in so I put the emphasis on wide play, close/tight support and attacking support on the sliders. I find the SB’s bomb forward to support the SM allowing me to pass the ball from SB to CM and then a quick through ball back out wide to the SM.

It’s not as easy as it sound and I do tend to find it a lot easier to play against the popular 4-3-3 tactics as they are light in midfield, against 4-4-2 or similar if I play the ball forward to quickly there’s no support in the middle and I tend to find the ball coming straight back at me.

I'm in division1 for ps3 US version, and i can honestly say that there are alot of these cheating scumbags in div1

just wondering..isnt it easier to just sell the player instead of resetting the team?
