I just now passed 200 games played in MLO, some people are above 2k....

I'm slowly rolling in the money, can usually get a new better player every day.

and I beat a guy with a loaded squad in MLO open coaches mode. Lost to a couple loaded squads too, but I hung with them. The key is countering their cheesy 3 striker tactics.

Just traded Diego for Riquelme. The later reigns supreme on AMF. His outside shots usually turn into a rebound, and both strikers aprecciate this. :happy:

Get Toivonen. He is a super human! Great player!

Hi, I didn't get myself a new striker...

I looked around and figured I had to change my formation.

Now playing 5-2-3 with a sweeper. Works like a treat. Decreased the amount of through balls. I played 12 matches so far and won about 50%. Only 1 loss and the rest were just draws with me being unlucky most of the time.

But, I looked at the stats and I now manage to have a 60% ball possesion average. Also have like 15(7) shots on goal on average.

Pretty good I think.

Seems that IF you are playing with three strikers and a lot of space, the CPU gives you an advantage when shooting at goal. May be it's perception..

I swear to god MLO is rigged. I mean come on... i am ranking 480 ish in div 3. I enter a MLOPEN and stuff a div 3 guy 4-1. next up a div 5er, played about 100 games win % of about 20% :O.

yep i lose 2-1 i take the lead with my first attack and BOOOOM - the 'mush' appears, defenders are ignoring the ball, my shots literally go over from like 6 yards out. everything about the games feels wrong. His goals were ridiculous, comical.

Next game another div 5er - the 'mush' is still there - i go 2-0 down after dominating the game (apart from scoring). Sorry dude i had to switch it off, saving a controller!

It annoys me that the game does this, believe me it does, anyone that thinks it if a fair level playing field every match is way wrong.

Now when i win, i think its only cos the CPU let me win, by giving my opponent the 'mush'

just to make it clear the example of 'mush' i posted above is not a one off - i have noticed sooo many times.

I dropped one of my cheaper amc's and picked up Clint Dempsey (see sig). He's easily improved my team, i'm winning nearly every game. He had comparable stats to my previous amc, except he has more/better cards and much better body balance and heading. God was I sick of my previous amc stumbling anytime a challenge came in, I'm pretty sure a 12 year old girl in a skirt could knock him over. Also whenever he needed to win a header in midfield...I didnt even bother he was that bad.

I play a good formation, a 4-3-2-1, it's narrow in the tactics screen but I set it to where they play wide in team style, this makes them drift into space on the wings which REALLY opens the throttle. It can also be super effective at possession, or long balls.

I also play a super deep, stand off defense. Nowhere near as many offsides won, but I don't risk having one on ones. Also this style allows me to personally man mark passing options and not having to worry about the ai getting out of position. Absolutely kills the standard online super attack, however it gives up long shots, luckily most people only know how to walk the ball into the net.

agreed, I'm starting to wonder if it's simulating complacency. I'm curious as to whether players with higher tenacity, teamwork, and the other similar stat (determination? I get them confused with football manager stats). Perhaps those stats keep your players from going stupid when in the lead.

I have the same feeling lol,I'm in Div1,most of the time i play some people with an inferior squad and ranking.every once in a while i play some people with decent squads in div 3 or 4, and the handicap is just so evident lol. Happened twice today, when my opponent scored 2 goals in the opening 10 minutes of the game.right off kick off he played a one two which was intercepted by my dmf, he then slide tackles me from behind without giving away a foul, plays the ball into my box, where my defender just ignores the ball and his forward just ran in and scored. second goal was one of those stupid crosses in that hit my defender and goes in. I then dominated the entire game, scoring 2 to make it 2:2, but then when presented the opportunity to score the winner, my forwards hits the post twice and completely missed the net 4 yards out. the game ends 2:2 i lose like 15 points for drawing that stupid game

Good point well raised on the handicap, seems only to happen in quick match for me though played two last night against someone from D5 drew one lost one and absolutely raped my ranking points dominated both games just players ignoring balls and every shot balooning over or hitting the post, and the most ridiculous red I've ever seen against me in the first ten mins!!

Always beat D5 people in ML Open though, so think prob is mainly with quick match! Noticed I get the rub of the green when playing the top boys too!

Ofcourse it couldn't be that we're just bitter and complacent when being spanked by a 'lesser' player?!:mellow:

blah, I've only made the knockout stage in any tournament ONCE, and that was in coach mode late at night.

Always get ranked in the 20s. blah, so hard to make money this way.

I got cheated out of a cup final by JulienAK47 (on the xbox 360). I already anticipated it as he's already cheated on me before and his connection ball is completely deflated.

What really has me confused is, his club is worth 450 million+ (yes 450 million!!!) but his actual squad maybe 30 million. He has won so many tournaments already, he must have at least 400 million cash. Why does someone like this play? My gut feeling says this is an asshole who simply enjoys pissing other people off, he doesn't actually play the game itself (I mean he just cheats most of the time as soon as the match starts).

Im sorry but this is nonsence.If your a good player you wont lose many games . ive started a new mlo and altogether must of played over 900 games altogether and i can say i get 70% of the luck ,its always easy to point the finger though when things arent going your way,isnt it.

good pont, but i find it hard to digest a defeat to a div 5er with 415 ranking points directly after qualifying for a div 3 cup and i am on 537 points in div 3. I know we can say "yea, but thats football." Occasionally it is - but this scenario is something I and my friends have noticed alot. I will dominate the game even tho my players play like donks, but i juist know i will script every shot wide, or off the post, yet they hit a 35 yard shot with Minanda and hey presto, it scorches into the top corner. So if they are 'that' good, why they on 415 ranking points in div 5.
