The "No Fouls Bug" by Konami

A picture is worth than a thousand words...

I agree. And this is a BAL match, I didn't foul a single time, so the 8 fouls are all AI fouls.

Also, four of those 8 free-kicks were from pretty close around the area and none resulted in a goal. Should serve as evidence that close-range free-kicks by the AI doesn't ALWAYS end up in the goal.

Do they even miss? Or do they score everytime? Can you block them with the wall?

Also, why the fuck does Embedding youtube videos not work in here??

Heres how you embed
[ youtube ] [ / youtube ]
delete the gaps

and on the youtube page address add what come after the = sign inbetween there ^

There are less fouls for sure, but I am not complaining since I hated the fact you got fouled too easily in the demo.

I think konami rushed the foul system after the demo was so easy to foul
theyve gone to an another extreme to try and fix it with the full game. Now X/A fouls are so so rare maybe not as rare as penaltys in pes 2010 but they are very few and far between. I don't think i've experienced a foul yet neither when a header is being contested .
It might of been an extreme the demo, but i got used to it and thought it was more realistic and actually made you think when defending .Now you can just constantly apply pressure without a risk of fouling anyone.

There's been plenty of fouls in the games I've been playing.

And I'm yet to concede from a FK, but now that I've said it, I'm bound to in my next match...

I've noticed the problem with fouls in the full game as well. I'm one of those people who absolutely loved the fouls in the demo. It was one of the major features for me since these kinds of fouls are necessary to have a proper representation of physical play in the game.

In the demo it was possible to coax the opponent into fouling you by shielding the ball and it was also possible to stop a counter-attack with a smartly timed foul. In addition it made tackling an expert exercise as wrong timing would result in either losing the player or fouling him. It took a lot of practice to get this right. In all, this contributed to a fantastic midfield game, the best I've seen in any game

Now in the full game, the fouls are back to the usual PES 2010 style + penalties. You're only likely to get a foul with a sliding tackle and then there is also a chance of a booking.

The big problem, is that in order to reduce the number of fouls Konami heavily toned down physical play. Players no longer connect as strongly when tussling for the ball and when pressing "pass button plus direction away from your goal" to get your player to strongly pressure the opponent he just hangs back indecisively. I've seen players actually stop shortly before reaching an opponent to avoid colliding with them. As a result midfield play has disappeared and the action has once again moved outside the two boxes as in PES 2010.

I think this an overreaction on Konami's part to complains by demo players that they were getting fouled far too often.
Imho the demo fouling system was just perfect. What needed changing were the replays after each minor foul which were unnecessary (and have been removed in the full game) and the advantage rule which needed to be implemented.

If there are others who agree with me on this I propose we send an email to Konami objecting to this change. My understanding is that the toning down of physical play was jury rigged due to time constraints and thus easily fixable in a patch, if only Konami sees that the fans want it back. It's a slim chance they will listen but it's worth a shot. Otherwise PES 2011 will represent not only a major step forward in the series, but also a lost opportunity.

I get 4-18 (yes, I once had 18 fouls comitted by enemy) fouls comitted by the AI per game, no idea what'cha talking about.

This is slightly annoying online, as most players will just play a high pressure tactic. In the demo at least you got a FK, once in a while. Now people won´t stop sprinting + pressing.

But, i´m not complaining. They will usually lose the game in the last 30 minutes, when the stamina of their players has reached 0.:)

Raising the difficulty level to Top Player , fouls committed by AI change a little bit (+1 or +2 for 15 min Match).

But on this level AI team move the ball too fast and the percentage of the AI passages succeeded is too high for being true.
Key values as "Agility, Response,Mentality, Teamwork " seem overrated: the rhythm of game is too much frantic

I judge it borderline for my personal taste.
I hope Konami will tkeak referee strictness a little bit...
Maybe with the outcoming patch.
