The one thing Fifa has going for it on the PS3/X-Box 360 that PES doesn't...

Everyone who says fifa 11 is the best is clearly lying and not seeing the bigger picture.
Fifa 11 is the wost football game in years.
I have never hated a game after a week, and now I hate it even more. I can't stand it anymore.
It's filled with glitches (I hae honestly never seen a game as SCRIPTED and a itchy as fifa 11) and the scripting is so high that the game became very boring, frustrating, and predictable.
Fifa 10 was far better for all it's faults.
Now, you may remember me saying that fifa 09 and 10 were better than pes and yes they were actually good and I would play them again and still have fun, BUT FIFA 11 is the worst game ever. I guess there's no need to mention the obvious faults in fifa 11 that are game breakers in everyway you try to see them.
Fifa 11 is the MW2 in football titles. I completly agree with this.
But MW2 can be good at times, FIFA 11 is NEVER good against the AI

When playing with friends, 2 vs 2, FIFA11 can be fun for a laugh. But I would never pay for it, because it is utterly clear, after 10 minutes of playing it, that the game is rubbish.

Sadly, I cannot say positive things about PES11, for me PES11 is just too easy and superficial, kind of like a mix between PES5 and FIFA09; which for some people is a good thing, but for me it is the reason for why I sold the game.

Yes PES5 and PES6 were cool for the time; but no, the same old trick does not entertain me anymore, it is year 2010, I have moved on from PES5 and I want something better.

"Personality+" -- something that is very old, EA Sports makes it sound like something new: SCRIPTED gameplay, just like PES5, PES6, and every other PES. But with appalling scripting.

"engineered for freedom" -- a new passing system implemented into the same old foundation, as a result we have one of the dumbest and easiest games ever.

Video games are getting dumber and dumber with each passing year, I cannot believe how websites and magazines gave good ratings to games like FIFA11 and PES11.

Neither PES11 nor FIFA11, deserved more than a 6 out of 10.

Haha, what a load of rubbish! You're talking about Fifa like its the 2nd coming. It's the best selling football game every year because it is the "everymans" football game. Lots of license, lots of glitz... but little soul. It's the MW2 of the sports genre.
The fact is, you CAN do easy one-two passing, I've SEEN everyone do it online. Fifa gives the illusion of freedom. I'm not saying PES is totally free, non of them are. Before you say anything, I can play PES and Fifa. I think I'm pretty good at both games.
Ok, you're used to running at "blazing speeds" past defenders, that seems to imply that you can only go round defenders with the mega fast players.

I was actually referring to PES when i mention blazing speeds and shooting rockets at goal. You cannot just run past defenders ....they will tackle you. One two passing is easy i agree but it is also apart of any footie game.

If you are really saying that Fifa 09 and Fifa11 have very little in common ....then i must say you have not played Fifa 11. FWC2010 saw a huge leap this year for EA and fifa. Improved shooting ...no more floaty balloon like shots, remarkable new animations, stronger heading and better defense.

I am not saying you do not play both games but Fifa is clearly what PES should have been at this point. Don't you also recognize that PES is now slowly adapting to Fifa like game?

Well said mate, they will clock on eventually even if they don't admit it. Although I do think fifa 11 is a good game after playing pes it just seems so wrong to play fifa, this comes from someone who has slated pes for the last few years and loved fifa. I played fifa all manual and it really does feel badly scripted despite the illusion of freedom you get, the AI seems to get worse every year. I am interested to see what EA do with 12 as I think they are running out of ideas.

I have played call of duty (a game that takes real skill) and in world at war ( not like mw2 with all it's obvious faults) my K/d is a 2 (never using the mp40) and I always play with randoms. So there goes your argument about me not knowing how to play. And again, if you won't admit the faults in fifa 11 like resetting a mm game and the SAME AI PLAYER SCORES EVERYTIME (high level of scripting), then you're blind.

As a former PES player I can only say that Fifa kicks it's ass all over the pitch.

Fifa has all the right elements of football...PES doesn't.

Fluid player movement
Increased Difficulty
Improved shooting
spectacular dribbling
and most of all ....flawless online with tons of games modes.

PES has transformed into an arcade game. Outdated graphics, unrealistic ball movement, horrid shooting, painful animations... and most of all dreadful online. Now we have the change cursor problems.

I have been biased over the years against Fifa...but the truth was that i never really played the game. I find this true to many here who make quick stupid judgments on clearly the best footie game ever to touch any console. They just cannot play the game.

Fifa eradicates those stupid things from its games. Passing and shooting is extremely brilliant. The game is the best because great players like myself who know what to look for in a footie game ...find it only on Fifa 11. Having found Fifa 08,09,10,11 very enjoyable on PS3 with PES 2008 being just acceptable and PES 2009 & 2010 being unplayable in comparison to FIFA, PES 2011 seems to have something going for it. I agree with the original post, that the difference in fluidity is quite noticeable and off putting at first. I've also had some difficulty adjusting to the behaviors of AI controlled teammates in PES 2011. That said I'm hoping further plays will result in the spontaneity and feeling of reward that made PES so engaging in the past.

I can't bring myself to play FIFA to be honest, I played the FIFA 2010 demo and just found it really 'bland'. Flicking the analogue sticks to push the ball past players in tight situations and being able to 'pass' the ball into the net is just ... lazy.

Not one to berate fifa but it has so many fundamentals wrong(especially offline) and according to OPM it has a perfect CM:shocking:, here is what fifa has so wrong, by the way for any fifa trolls lurking I have played fifa for the past three years to death

- Every player has an almost identical first touch(although first touch with RS is underrated

- Manual pass feels to assisted and there is only a small amount of individuality

- Pressure still rules, the CPU AI is sickening in its abuse of it and stamina plays no effect

- Even on all manual the game has a really strange scripted feel on legendary.

- PP is very limited and EA think football=premiership, player individuality overall is average at best

- Every AI team plays the same and stats don't matter

- Offline play is very limited, CM is embarrassing and reeks of not giving a shit, although I am a pes fan I was one of the many fifa consumers badly let down AGAIN this year after another year of marketing and empty promises

How the fuck fifa received such high reviews is a mystery, however it is the sort of game that feels great until you realise what its really about, I gave it 9.2/10 on release.

Having scanned the thread I can't really see too much that FIFA has over PES. I said I'd like to see the penalty system adopted but other than that, I haven't read anything else worth adopting. If anything I'm glad to see some of the stupid features of FIFA (L1 player runs) haven't been adopted.
