Many peeps on Wenb are quaking in their unedited pes boots at the unnerving news that PES 2008 has major slowdown/ framerate issues on ps3.

Suffwan shd no doubt help clear up the worries but he (and ign) have already admitted it is an issue.

Time to get n xbo360 or jus a lot of pre game hype? I mean, doesn't every pro evo slowdown on corners an crowded box situations? aguess we'll jus have to deal with it....

yeah i was just about to mention the fact that all the other pro evo games have had slowdown and frame rate issues espesially on corners.

never been a major issue and has never really hampered the gaming experience, if its the same story in pes2008 then i'm not even going to worry about it.

parently if u install some of the game data onto the ps3 hdd the problem is less and it only occurs on a few stadiums too so ihave been somewhat unreliably told.
man i hope its not gash.

I 100% agree.
It should not be there at all!
But every year I read in reviews that there is slowdown but like others have said its not noticeable.
Its just reviewers have to obviously find negatives if they are present etc...
I just hope it is not so bad it is a hinderance.

EDIT: I have found this on another forum and this is what some guy said another guy posted on another forum (Still with me? lol) and he said it actually makes a difference with Motorstorm and him being able to play The Darkness online now as he couldnt before. I dont know if this would help PES or not if there is any really bad slowdown.

"Hi, I've found the following improvements for better and smoother framerates for ps3 games.
Like set the BD/DVD upscaler set off,HDMI 24fps off, HDMI audio set on bitstream, PS2 upscaler/smoother set off.
Disable system display notify/ mediaserver off / all other automatic setting set to off / internet disable if not multiplaying and other setting etc will all help improve framerates.

I tested all the games with HDMI 720p, and all games runs more smoother, speed and more responsive, I think cell dont have to spend time in the background from those settings before.

Let us know if this also helps the framerates for you too”

Hello guys. I played PES2008 now fot three ours and really that slowdown is not to worry about. It is not even irritating because if you install the data on the harddrive you will have a little of slowdown what really isn't affecting your game at all. I'am really loving PES2008 on the PS3 it plays as the best soccer game there is. And it really looks nice:D I'am going to play now so guys have fun with PES2008

Stop dissing the PS3 version.

The first version of PES on a new console is always shit, namely PES5 on PSP and PES6 on 360.

But PES2008 on PS3 isn't gonna be shit, the only problem with it is it is going to have some slowdown which doesn't affect the gameplay.

You should be praising Seabass for actually making this version good (unlike PES6 on 360) in the short space of time they had to develop it, not to mention a complicated new architecture they had to program for.

Slowdown

I've reveiced my copy of PES2008 on PS3 today and I must say I was a bit disappointed with the slowdown. However, using the configuration changes based on the message above it's a lot better. Not a problem at all, as the slowdown is mostly during replays.

Besides that the game simply rocks. I've done a lot of playing FIFA on the XBOX 360 but it isn't nearly as good as PES 2008. It's a great game I must admit, but of course, they had 10 years of production trying to make it look like football...

Back to my game now =)

i have the 360 version and it slowsdown a fair bit. heres a few points.

1. when players line up for the match it slows down alot
2. to many players in the box from corners
3. and also free kicks. (10 man wall)

the game is pretty good but it seems to be lacking something. if any one knows how to make this game a bit smoother 4 the 360 please let me know

doesn't look good guys pro-g have fookin rinsed the ps3 version on the frameraye/slowdown issues. they say its pretty much gash and unplayable.

Yep does sound shocking!
How can IGN give it 9.2 and say the slowdown is there but doesnt make the game unplayable yet Pro-G say otherwise?

Well not looking forward to it now.
Ill install part of it on my HDD and turn all my Blu-ray settings and internet media settings off and see if that makes a difference...

Totally unacceptable by Konami.
Surely if it is THAT bad why the hell did they release it?
There should definately be a patch to fix this!
