The Training Discussion Thread

OK, goalkeepers need a lot defense training and a bit of stamina.
And about other positions? Middlefields (DM, CM and AM) and strikers (L/RF, SYT and CF)? Until now I don't know exactly what training each position need.

You shouldn't train players solely by position, but by their needs. If you have a CB with low speed and low passing, it makes sense to train him with Passing; if he has low passing and low defensive stats, it is more advisable to train his Defence.

In short I would say that...

- GK: every stat, so train him for the ones they're worse at. Defence will raise all of them, and I don't think dribbling does anything
- CB: passing, physique and defence
- LB: dribbling, speed, and physique. If you prefer old school fullbacks just add Defence in there, and remove dribbling
- DMF and CMF: passing and physique
- AMF and SMF: passing, shooting and dribbling
- WF and SS: speed, dribbling, passing and shooting
- CF: shooting and, depending on the kind of CF you have, dribbling/speed or physique

Now, looking at your player stats, you see which training is more needed to them

On training, I wanted to know some tips about how to train players who are either 'At Peak Level' or are 'In Decline'? Any specific tips or best practices?

For my declining players (if i'm not going to sell them) I train them in speed to keep the relating attributes up. I notice mids & fwds get a lot slower when playing with them in possession and lose pace when they turn 30, 31 and 32 so I have found by training them in speed it maintains those levels for longer.

OK, seems logical. What about 'At Peak Level' players?

For players at the peak level of there career I tend to mix up their training more than the youngsters, for example I have Benzema for Valencia, who has been at the 'peak of his powers' ever since I bought him, however he went up from 87 OR to 88 OR recently. I originally put this down to him playing well and scoring/assisting goals but it could also be me changing his training type every 6 weeks or so, rather than leaving it on one attribute for 5 months like I would do with a 19 yr old...

Quite easy. During the game, press Start, Select Sides, press :square: and press right until the analog logo appears, instead of just the directional pad logo.

If the Select Sides option does not appear during the game just go to your Data profile and follow the remain steps

They effect how the player performs. They're pretty much random, and quite important actually. Basically:

Green = normal
Orange = good
Red = very good
Blue = poor
Purple = very poor

If a player has a purple arrow, don't bother playing him. Cristiano Ronaldo on a purple arrow plays like Liam Trotter. If you have adequate replacements, you should drop players with a blue arrow. If a player has a red arrow, if he decent enough, you should play him.

Can anyone suggest me a training type for Tielemens?.
I have had him for more than half a season and he is only 76 OVR(73 when bought)..Please suggest something.

And should i play Tielemens or Loftus-Cheek at CMF.tielemens has got a great shot but loftus cheek has scored and assisted in every game he has played(only as a sub).

Any suggestion would be helpful..

He went up 3 OVR in half a season? That ain't too bad. Just train him how you would any other CM - passing, shooting, physicality, and balanced.

As for who to play - rotate! Players struggle to stay fully fit 2 games in a row, if you're playing midweek fixtures.

Oh ok.I was just asking because one of my default players, Gellazaca I think has developed +13 in one and a half season..
So,I thought that tielemens might develop quickly.

Do you know at what OVR does he peak?

Ali

He reached around 87/88 for me, at season 6. Can't remember if that was his peak though, I've stopped playing that ML.
