Untucked shirts not in-game, only replays?

I was watching the Holland - Germany game (link below), and unless I am wrong, Sneijder and Van Der Vaart (whom both are seen with untucked shirts in the pre-game and replays) wear their shirts in (tucked in) during in game - the same problem as last year's PES, where untucked shirts were seen only in replays while magically they were tucked in during gameplay. Annoying. Unless my eyes deceive me, can anybody confirm this?:shocking:

No offense, but I think you are wrong. I can clearly see in that video that some players have untucked shirts, in BOTH the cut scenes AND the actual gameplay.

It has been confirmed millions of times that untucked shirts are an option in edit mode.

With respect to all, I do believe it is important to us players. Consistency helps to give us better realism (because that's what fans want), even if to at least make us forget about the other problems.
On the previous PS2 games, they had untucked shirts during actual gameplay (and you could see them clearly if you switch to CLOSE camera option, which I use). They even had dirt on uniforms, neck warmers, etc.
So, after last year's 2009, fans had wanted to untucked shirt option for the purpose of realistic playing conditions. Konami promised to bring this back, with an option. But what is the point of this option if it is not even in the gameplay, with everybody wearing their shirts TUCKED!!?!! It makes the realism muted and fake. Then MAGICALLY, during cut scenes and replays, they are untucked. What kind of sloppy programming is this?

It is like Konami just put the option to please us on the surface, but refusing to finish the job properly. I believe it is when we say "oh it does not matter, just give the fans the option but not in game", this make Konami lazy.

This kind of attitude by them shows a lack of earnestness in the big and small details, despite their promises. They couldn't even fix this little thing, never mind the other or bigger issues like gameplay, ML, editing, licenses...

FIFA 10 has this and can be seen in game. Konami, boasting better visual presentation, at least should have fix such niggles, such annoyances, to at least trounce FIFA with better touches of on pitch realism and in terms of visuals.

Even the pitches I have noticed are too sterile and clean. No snow either!

I love PES and I have been quietly and mostly reading the forums, but as just like any other pES fan, my emotions are really rubbed the wrong way by such laziness.

What is the POINT of the huge visual upgrade and the untucked option if this problem visually is not even fixed??? (On PS2 they had it almost perfect, yet on the next-gen, they couldn't fix this problem>)

I am afraid this is an indication of how Konami's mentality is. I doubt if they really listened to the fans.

NOTE - from the above poster who said the untucked shirts ARE in the game, maybe a close camera angle could show/proove this, but unless the retail version is fixed, many readers don't see the evidence of the in game untucked shirts.

BTW, no low socks too (on PS2 versions, they had this and many other options). Unbelievable.

Thank you for reading. I would be happy to be proven wrong, but I have watched the 2 dutch and Ajax videos 6 times, (too fast and blurry), but no untucked shirts in the actual gamplay...

IN FACT, THERE WAS AN ANGLE WHERE VAN DER WAART (UNTUCKED SHIRT) PREPARED FOR FREE KICK, BUT WHEN THE CAMERA CHANGED TO THE GAMEPLAY ANGLE, YOU COULD SEE HIS SHIRT TUCKED IN.

GEZUZ, KONAMI. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR FAN BASE???

In the we 10 demo some players are with untucked shirts even in gameplay. It's clearly there.

the only reason im glad untucked shirts has returned is in editing mode. now i can edit further down the shirt without having to guess how close to the bottom i have gone.

well i have also felt the same..i do think if this is a minor mistake from konami...me and my friend had the same argument...i hope Shaun is right...or else it will weird to have an option in the game to untuck and not in the game play

I had two friends study the videos carefully to get their opinions, and they think I am right. No untucked shirts in actual gameplay. One of them say, "wow, that is disappointing. Imagine if ALL players wear the same short sleeves, or hair styles, or shoes." No untucked shirts is real bad. This is a return to realism? It is a joke if we have to download a patch (what if many people do not have fixed broadband connections?) for something that should have been in the retail game, fixed and corrected. I for one am very angry at Konami's laziness, unless the retail version is corrected. Other videos just released also do NOT show untucked shirts, but only during REPLAYS and CUT SCENES. What is this, magic circus fantasy based soccer????, where shirts can suddenly be tucked and untucked by virtue of the cut scenes? Simple things, and they couldn't fix this. No wonder FIFA is ahead. What is KONAMI EUROPE and JAPAN doing, when such idiocacy is ignored?

To add to the problems:
Another friend brought this up: It seems the videos show players also shooting goals from a distance way too often (i.e. the game is unrealistic, and arcadey), bringing more worries when Konami promised a "return to simulation roots." These problems could be worse than FIFA 10's long goal glitch.

IF ANYBODY has any video showing untucked shirts DURING gameplay, PLEASE do post it or provide a link. THANK YOU. I want and hoping to be proven wrong by any videos. (Some say untucked shirts in demos or previous videos/trailers, but they seem to be replay videos, not actual gameplay - then again, I would be happy, like many of you, to see actual proof to untucked shirts in the ACTUAL gameplay.)

agreed, feck all these little intricacies, PES really needs to bump up its gameplay before polishing a game. i mean sure they were there before so why they wasnt when we first moved to next gen i have no idea, consistency has been awful in the next gen era with PES but there are bigger fish to fry!

the problem with tucked/untucked shirts imo was that there was really no reason to remove it. if it had never been included then maybe no one would make a big deal out of it but as it was once included people like the option. granted they have more important things than this but it's not as though it would take much time, konami will already have the codes or whatever it is to implement it, it would just take them to include it again.

it does make the game more visually accurate as many players play like this every week, if you want to see rooney or, i dont know, i can only think of him atm but it's all part of realistic player modelling.

the same as the socks worn over the knees, i wouldn't put it on peter crouch but if i wanted an instantly recognisable model of drogba for instance i would use the option.

John4: I agree with you on the whole, but they did claim they had two years (or three) working on the new gameplay, which is enough time to polish a game. TWO YEARS. (Some sites say more than two years, with extra 200 staffers/programmers). Untucked shirts in gameplay is not an intricacy but part of the gameplay/visuals, as they call it. It's not even a difficult programming problem.
-----------

You summarized the problem succintly, exactly. It's not even difficult, but I think they are just being lazy and sloppy. Wii games are more professionally checked and designed than this. And we should not defend Konami entirely, because as I said, they themselves claimed they were working on PES2010 for over TWO YEARS, and as you said, they probably have the codes (they could just refine it a bit).

If you guys don't believe me, wait until you play the game. The cut scenes suddenly showing half the team with untucked shirts (when during gameplay they are tucked) could be jarring to the senses and will mute the realism/experience, especially with the new realistic high-def visuals and as especially you also indicated, we are used to players on the tube wearing low-high socks and untucked shirts etc etc.

^ Agree. But as Shaun posted, this will return an there will be an option file with it. But as others have posted, I don't really think it is that big an issue.

Well said, we have enough issues with game play and online play to be worrying about shirts!

Then why put the option in the game if it was not important and if it is not in the actual gameplay?? You guys wanted realism, and now, Konami brought it back, but doesn't work, then you guys say it is not important...
didn't the fans from this site too ask for the untucked option to be put back in??

Well said, we have enough issues with game play and online play to be worrying about shirts!

^Go check the demo NOW. In the actual gameplay the untucked shorts appear untucked. Do it now. I checked the pes demo and the we demo and the results were the same. I know that it isn't visible enough but if you watch closer it's definately visible.

It's very hard to see as you know. Plus, the latest videos of gameplay don't show it. Finally, I asked my non-English speaking friends to check them out. They can't see actual untucked shirts easily like in the PS2 or FIFA 10 versions. I also used an office magnifying glass. Additionally, another friend in Chiba, Japan (near Tokyo) has been playing the so called WE 2010 in store "promotional" disc and he couldn't confirm if untucked shirts are in the gameplay. So we all decided to send a fax directly to Konami Tokyo and call their customer hotline, to ask this and 4 or 5 other issues. We are getting tired of Konami's sloppiness. People who say this is not important makes this site sounds like WENB, where they praise every defect and thus makes Konami more complacent. Next, people will say, gee, boots are not important, hairstyles not important, faces not important, online no, gameplay, no, license not important. What could be more important than the little touches of realism, if only to beat FIFA with the renowned "meatiness" of PES? Am I wrong? If Konami could not fix these solvable little problems, how can we trust them to fix online, simulation problems, etc etc etc.?? The logic is nonsensical here. I never said online or other things not important, but people here should let readers express their own wishes or concerns and worries. This is what PESGAMING is famous for, unlike the infantile bloated crap of WENB and their biased opinions. It does not any justice to the game if year after year after year, we keep saying :"oh this, or that, is not important. Fix the "main" things first." Are the main things fixed??? No. It's the little things that add up that make PES so unique. Am I wrong to voice my opinion???
To settle this once for all, we are faxing to Konami and their lazy staff, goddammit.
WHY do we have to strain our eyes just to find untucked shirts, while FIFA 10 and PS2 old PES games they were so apparent?
(SPeaking of which, there are many other things Konami promised "big edit mode like the previous games", but crap, they lied, and the edit mode is basically the same. Slots are not even sufficient!)
I will not post anymore but go directly to the maker to voice our concern.
