Did everybody get the 2nd update or patch for PES, I hadn't played PES for a while and put it on the other day to see they brought out a 2nd update, does anybody know what it has changed?

The only thing I noticed as of yet is you can take quick free kicks which I don't think you could do before if I remember right.

i think its to fix the freezing which occurs, my game froze a loooooooot offline, but been playing all morning and it works fine now

altho its meant to be a fix for non-hd tv's, but mines is an hd telly and mines is sorted now :S

I installed that patch this afternoon. According to Konami's website the patch helps users playing on a Standard Definition TV set but I think they have made some changes to the game play. I found it a little more jerky using my HD tv and I'm sure they've added an extra line of advertisment boards along side the pitch with new sponsers! What cheeck if they have! You could take quick free kicks before the update so that's not new. Some people on other forums think that the replays have got soomther but I can't see any change. Although I did turn the game on v human player and the keepers let every shot in (if it was on target) and we had loads of hapless own goals, but then that could have been just a crazy game. It finished 6-5.

Got it installed yesterday, didn't notice any change. But never had many problems, guess my HDTV is a very good one. Sony bravia rules!!!
Also for online better play, make your own rooms and you will notice that you have less lag as if u chose quick match

i dont see what the problem ppl are havin on hd tv's....ive been playing it on the HD since pes2008 first came out on ps3 and ive had no problems with stuttering or freezing - guess im just lucky lol. the only problems ive had are with the online lag but thats standard. not downloaded the patch yet, will do so later on.

Hi folks - I can confirm the patch seems to fix the stuttering problem on Standard Def TV's - I can now play without getting a headache!

The slight framerate problems that pop up in replays and intros on SD and Hi-Def don't seem to be any better & I still get lag online - but despite my dissapointment at Konami releasing the game with so many little flaws this is still my favourite of the series!

Right have added new patch , as have 28" Sd TV and 23" HD but wanted to try PES2008 on bigger screen, on HD still the odd judder offline, tends to happen I think on pitches with circle turf.

On SD biggest difference is the quality of the TXT, it's not as sharp as the HD TV bit guess that is why, the update has made the SD version of the game very smooth but not all that sharp on the actual players. Have set PS3 display setting to s video as have one, PS Smoothing on, super white on and Full HD limited.

Think the update has made it well playable on SD TV but it looks like last PES on PS2.

Any suggestions on the PS3 setting
