if 1.3 is not released for NA, I'm seriously thinking about buying WE 2009. I haven't played with the Japanese commentary for a long time. Plus they get all the updates as well.

Verious forums and konami have already annouced that they are aiming to release the update before febuary 5th, as for the option file have u got a downloaded one or have u got your own because it wont mess up if u got your own option file, but if it's downloaded then i am not sure.

Ya I thought about selling my copy too and buying either the UK or WE but it doesn't make sense to give Konami even more money for being jackasses so I'll just stick with it and hope for the best.

when i go on www.konami.com "Konami North America's Website" i can't find any pro evo 2009 news or anything but when i go to www.konami.co.uk "Konami UK" i can find news on their about the updates & stuff, i have a bad feeling that north america won't be getting any updates seeing as they aint even got update 1.20 yet.

Its absolutely amazing. The Game is basically the same from WE to PES in the UK and PES in NA, but they don't want to take minimal effort and make 1.20 update available for the US... why fing bother releasing the game here then, with the online mode sucking badly, it just makes more sense to get the UK version next year and not bother buying the NA version. I used to preach the need to support Konami's US release and show them here we want this game.. but I'm starting to loose that mind set, if they cant support us, why support them. They are just lucky that fifa is still a load rubbish, or they would be down the tubes very quickly.

I guess the one bright spot is, you can basically do all the editing the updates do yourself if you want.... i really don';t care about stupid things like boot updates, who cares about that crap.

Just wish I had a PS3 instead of a 360 so I could get the patches... I've got the worst of both worlds (N.A./360) and the worst controller to boot (no sign of the the green one headed here either).

January update on the horizon


With much talk from Konami promising downloadable updates in the future, we wonder if that includes more improvements for PES 2009…

First off a quick apology for our absence. Quite simply there’s not much to post about right now. WENB has always focused primarily on bringing the fans news on the PES series. Right now there’s nothing too positive to speak about regarding PES 2009, with much talk about poor year-on-year sales.

Secondly, with the rise of interest concerning the FIFA series thanks to FIFA 09’s success our dedicated blog on EA’s franchise has grabbed our current attention. That’s mainly down to the fact the site is set to launch a collective campaign before the weekend to gain as much info for FIFA 09’s January update.

With that mind, my last (brief) conversation with our friends at Konami included a question about any possible update for PES 2009 in the coming months. With no concrete answer, it got me thinking what sort of update Konami would actually do. I mean, the last update fixed certain lag issues but it was primarily focused on updating licenses and rosters. A January update would no doubt correct rosters again, but is that all we want?

The kit licensing and badges in the CL mode was neat, but that along with new boots made me think Konami wrongly think they have their fanbase figured out. After no doubt being enthralled by the community as they churn out more and more patches which add that official sheen on each version, Seabass and friends feel all they need to do is mirror that to keep us happy.

Are they right?

Let us know what you would like if an update was planned, aside from the obvious roster update. Online grumblers let yourself be heard!

I believe the 1.20 is available in North America!!!

I downloaded an update yesterday on XBOX 360, and I've got some new boots in my collection.

Need to try out the online play to see if it works any better.

This bodes well for the 1.30 release coming to us as well.
