Want next-gen PES? get a 360 'cause PS3 is delayed AGAIN!!

Yup that's right Sony have once again poked Europe in the eye and delayed the launch of the PS3 until March 2007!!! Japan & USA will still see the PS3 in November this year with Europe to follow in March 07 (where I have I seen this strategy before?).

My advice is get yourselves a 360 and get yourselves a copy of PES6! I'm glad I got the 360 now and have lost total faith in Sony. Also now that Assassin's Creed is scheduled for release on 360 too, I really don't see what the point is in getting a PS3 now.

Ko_nami, if you read this, then you were right - better to wait a year or so and then buy.

We weren't expecting a PS3 edition of PES before March anyway, so you can't really say 'get a 360' because of that, because we won't be waiting any longer for PS3 PES that we would have been anyway.

I can wait, and i'm certainly not getting a 360

Doesn't mount much of a problem as far as I can see the PS3 will be region free, therefore the only difference will be the NTSC and PAL but as there are coverters (if your tv doesnt play them already) and if you are using a HDTV it should play both should it not?

So for me it is only where you buy machine from that is the issue and not when, and as we are all users of the internet it shouldn't be a problem at all, plus the dollar is weak at the moment so the cost probably woudn't be any more than buying it here, dare I say possibly cheaper!

I wasnt planning on getting a PS3 anyway... and certainly not if the RDM (?) rumours are true...
Dont have a 360 yet, but will pick one up once it goes doewn in price, which could be before this Xmas, or somewhere next year...
Either way, not picking one up yet... still too expensive...

No one was expecting PES out this year on PS3 anyway, only the fools did. I'm not purchasing a PS3 until probably a years time. The only way I'm getting a 360 is if I win one too, I've heard so many mixed reviews about it I'm not going to waste £300 when I don't need to. Many people will buy the 360 and urge others to do so and these are the same people who will buy the PS3 when it comes out as well. Not everyone has or wants to waste such money.

looks like PES6 will be a launch title with the PS3 in march... i think that is really good strategy on Sony's part...

after all, PES is one of the highest selling franchises in Europe.

In one of my schedule lists at Dixons I was looking around and I saw a PS3 bundle which consists;

PS3
3 PS3 games

Everyone knows that the PS3 game will cost around £49.99 and on this "bundle" I happened to notice that you are actually only paying for one game and two are free, if you can do Maths that will tell you that at the moment if the PS3 was out now it would cost around £500, though by March that'll have dropped to £400 roughly...:unsure:

'Next-gen' PES is just a graphical update and maybe with a bit moreb AI. I'm not gonna blow £300 for 'next-gen' one-on-one PES. I have patience and sense unlike some others. Firstly. PES wasn't coming out this year or early next year but could now ell launch in europe as the PS3 version would be done by then. Regarding patience, I can wait and play PES on my PS2 online against PC users in a 4 on 4 battle. Or do an 8 player fix master league with my friends. Either way, I could still save up some money for PS3 and even though this news is BAD im not too affected by it now I think about it. Everyone will be ready for a graphical update come March so they better release it at launch. Too much bad news these days.

I still can't work out why people are still saying this. It may well have better specs but it doesn't mean will look any better, or even play better. The developers have to use the power, and i bet many won't. Seabass has said he will most probably use the SAME next-gen engine for the PS3, 360 and PC. Plus the damn thing isn't even out yet and people are saying it is better than the 360.

I got bit in the ass with the ps2 hype when it first came out. It was supposed to do this and that and the other. Then it launched and only did a bit of this. Way way way too overhyped. They're already saying games for the ps3 will probably be more than $60, yet less than $100 (whew, that makes it better...). The system itself is a little too pricey for me to buy it right away. I'll probably wait a year or two, see if the thing lives up to expectations, then decide. I bought the 360, that should tide me over for a couple years.

By the way, that SUCKS for you guys in Europe having to wait 5 months! I guess better a 5 month wait then try to do a "worldwide" launch and be spread thin on consoles everywhere! *ahemmicrosoftahem*

Chrisius, for once I hope you're right - I would love it if Konami did actually release PES7 for the PS3 with a graphical update, but judging by Seasbass's interview, both platforms will be identical with minor tweaks in the grahics engine, such as was the case of PES1 to PES2 and so on. I fear that Konami have built this engine and now plan to just "evolve" PES 6 to PES7 with minor graphical tweaks (and then continue the same trend again) - if this is the case then it's possible we may have to wait until PS4 or X360 2 for a new truly "next gen" graphics engine!!

really i dont think so stopp being such fanboys buy both
the ps3 might still be delayed further if blu dont sell stateside currently its being outsold 4-1 by HD dvd so aif sony does another betamax flop again expect a dual format ps3 or a ps3 without bluray

its not just games that are going to be affected by blu ray its films and movies sony want to release all the stuff they own on blu ray only so
if actor a movies dont sell on blu ray cause no one likes it the loose money from residual sales on dvd a lot od actors gulds like sag are pissed of by sony
even sony admit the ps3 has bluray in it just to get the new format a user base thats why it was delayed the europe region has bugged coding in it that will take a few months to fix

they should have left it out and just released the machine with a as standard like the 360 which has the option of adding drives ro it like the hd one or if blu ray wins a bluray one its ideal

oh and ps3 games are NOT BLU RAY their on normal dvds
and 360 hd dvd wont do games either

pes 6 probally wont be out on the ps3 next year more likely it will be pro 7
not on launch in march that is retarded and anyone who believes should hang them selfs with their joypad wire
next november it will be pro evo 7 on 360 ps3 and vista pc

so if you want pro which is not just a graphic update as a lot of fanboys are saying buy it on the 360 or wait a long time for your fix
