Following are the details of Japanese version of WE8I as revealed in WE thread in 2ch, a Japanese board. We don't know the difference between WE8I and WE8 LiveWare Evolution yet, but anyway:

1. Official license for Premiership and Bundesliga

2. League Mode integrated into the Master League: you'll be able to play Serie A etc. inside the Master League

3. A mode to develop a single player: no details yet

4. Options like players' lifecycle in ML, classic players in ML and referee on pitch can be turned off

5. License for 3 Argentine and 3 Brazilian clubs

6. WE9FE will be the last edition of WE for PS2; WE10 will be released for the next generation of consoles; Xbox editions of WE is confirmed starting from WE9, but WE8FE for Xbox is highly probable (Of course, there is PES4 for Xbox already!)

7. Contract with adidas as the official supplier may expire, with negotiation with Nike going underway

8. 7 languages will be supported

9. CPU AI development mode

10. Enhanced man-to-man situation and 50% increased feinting motions.

Additional "rumours" as compiled from ruliweb, a Korean site. I cannot verify the relevancy of these claims:

- Additional license deals for the national teams, other than Japan and Korea, are being worked out

- More uniform templates, including latest adidas kits as well as some striped(!) ones

- Nike-lookalike uniform templates will be added also

- WE8FE (must be International) set to be announced during December; will go on sale in late February to mid March period

- Winter transfers will not be included

- Red Finale will be added

- Weird hairstyles present in WE8 will be removed, to be replaced by ones by Valderama, Sorin et al.

- Bicycle kick will be more frequent (as is the case in real matches)

- "Fake" CSKA Moskva will be added; official license for FC Porto

Oh dear I've been too long out of the loop...(playing WE8-J)

Can someone tell me what the difference is between Winning Eleven 8 International released 17 Feb 2005, and Winning Eleven 8 Liveware Evolution, released 24 Mar 2005?

I've tried searching and this is the closest thread I can find. I'll follow a link if there's an answer out there already.

I'd thought Liveware Evolution would be the WE8 'International' for this generation of the game, and didn't realise that there would still be 'International' too.

If I'm playing outside Japan without the online gaming facility, would I be $5 better off and playing 5 weeks sooner by switching my order from Liveware Evolution to International?

Are they exactly the same (game play, licences, kits etc) except for the on-line gaming?

• Supports online gaming (available on Japanese server only).
• Includes updated team roster from the current 04/05 season, including updated jerseys and player formations.
• Features new stadiums.
• Features new improved motions and animations of the players.
• Six language options to choose from.
• Includes new KONAMI cup game modes.
• Features chat message function during online gaming.

description
Winning Eleven 8 marks a quantum leap forward for both the Winning Eleven franchise and the football genre as a whole. With the series famed for its intuitive controls and the realistic movement of players on and around the ball, Winning Eleven 8 has further pushed the envelope with a wealth of new moves and tricks that flow fluidly within the fast-paced action.

Winning Eleven 8 Liveware Evolution includes a variety of updates as well as new features. Among those are updated team rosters from the current season, new stadiums, animations and several other finetunes.

As major improvement, Winning Eleven 8 Liveware Evolution features online gaming, which is however confirmed to work on Japanese servers only.

Winning Eleven 8 Liveware Evolution features a total of 6 languages to choose from.

The description of WE8 International just has the first paragraph above.

If you`re asking the difference between WE8I (USA) and WE8LWE it will be this:

WE8I-USA is the same crap as PES4

WE8 J League AC (currently the best one) after that WE8 Liveware Evolution comes in the picture (this will be considered as WE8:FE or WE8I-J.) and it`s also the last game until WE9. So this title should be the BEST.

WE8LWE will have an online play avaliable only for Japanese folks... people are still trying to find a way to play it online, so far they have been unsuccessful. So forget about an online play. WE8LWE was supposed to be released on March 3rd they postponed the release until March 23rd.

diggi, thanks. I gave PES4 a miss considering it's more or less the original WE8 Japan.

I think this new release is WE8 Intl. Japan, rather than the USA version - the web-site list it as NTSC-J.

I'm still not sure whether I should change my order from WE8 Liveware Evolution (J) to WE8 International (J).

If the only difference in the two Japanese versions of the game is the Liveware online gaming, which is no use to me outside of Japan, I think I try to switch.

Does anyone know for sure?

Ok this is what`s going on...

Remember when Winning Eleven 7 International J was released there were another versions before or after that I can`t remember. They were Korean WE versions.. so what they did now is made a INT* version for Korean folks but this year they have it on PS2 and XBOX.

The game you want to have is WE8 LIVEWARE EVOLUTION.
