Well im not getting this patch to work. Have tried for 3 days now, but still get a black screen.

1. I use Winrar to extract all the files from my clean WE9 iso-file.
2. I drag all the files in the patch over too the folder where the unrared files are, and thereby overwrite some of the files.
3. Open dvd gen and put one file in at a time, so that they are in the correct order as mentioned by tyrvas in hawkes patch thread.
4. Fill in the stuff in "Volume"
5. Here ive done both. Used the export iml file option that tyrvas recommended, and then apache 2 to make iso and also made it with the run>cmd option.
6. Burn it at the slowest speed possible with Nero 6, which is 2x.
7. Put it in my chipped slim edition ps2
8. The Playstation 2 logo that appears when a ps2 game starts, is the, but after that its all black. Ive tried 4 times now(one with the original intro as someone mentioned culd have an affect)

Any tips on what im doing wrong...?

Last patch that ive used is wemerica 2.5 and it works fine(didnt try 3.0)

I have only done the following in edit mode
- change team name, and had no problems at all with Barcelona,
but...since you mention that via HDLdr it also happens,
then there must be a problem when editing...

Just tried editing Anderlech and the game DID freeze.
So yes, this is not your HDLdr, DVDR or PS2 reading problem..
it's an in-game modification problem, what I don't understand
is why Barcelona can be editied.

You also mention you had no problems when editing in WEmerica 3.0,
why don't you try the following;

Use WEmerica's 'Option File 4.0 Final' with 'WE9 - WEmerica 3.0',
and try editing, if you can then modify whatever you want, then
save it to your 'Option Final 4.0 Final'.
Remove 'WE9 - WEmerica 3.0' from PS2...
Now insert 'WE9 - WEmerica 4.0 Final' and restart PS2,
if all goes well Option File should load and edited modifications
should have been made.

the file/folders from your clean WE9 iso-file to a folder in your HD.
(a) Run DKZ, click 'File' tab then select & click 'Open File',
browser opens, look for you clean WE9 iso-file, select it & click 'Open'.

(b) Now click 'Edit' tab then select & click 'Extract files from current folder',
browser opens, select where you want the files to be extracted to.

the above sounds fine but did you drag J_TEXT folders (US & GER)?
If so it's wrong...you must drag one J_TEXT.afs file from inside
one of the folders, so select between..

'J_TEXT US' folder contains J_TEXT.afs english version game text
'J_TEXT GER' folder contains J_TEXT.afs german version game text

...to overwrite original WE9 extracted J_TEXT.afs file.

Also some people have problems with the patched 'WE9_OP.PSS',
so states WEmerica in one of his text files in patch, the file is
the champions league movie intro, so forget it and try using original
'WE9_OP.PSS' do not overwrite it.

...right now I have no more ideas on how to help you m8...

Well ive done it just as you say above(took j text us out of folder) on all my previous tryes, but ill try again) Only difference is ive used winrar to extract from the clean iso. Will now try with dkz instead. And ive also used original intro movie in two of my previous dvds.

it freez on loading the match & is this we9 or pes 5 i wil weith for ,reefur to make his patch ,goo reefur

the system file is not suitable for running in msdos and windows applications

I got my dvd patched allright.. but i had a problem... The menu of the game is not translated!! I made sommething wrong?? PLZ Help!

Did you check/install aspi open 'Read me + tool' folder (found in patch),
to check the state of your aspi simply double-right click aspichk.exe.
to install aspi double-right click ASPI4ALL.exe. reboot when done.

If still not working use v1.50, don't see why not.

Wohooo! got it working now. Must have been the extracting with winrar that ruined it...

But one thing strikes me, when running down the flank and wanting to pass a hard low cross, I do the regular three fast taps on O, but that doesnt do it anymore. Instead the gauge comes up and the cross goes high into the stands behind the goal...

Anyone now if this is a setting i need to change somewhere...

Btw why call it Pro Evolution Soccer 5 WEmerica, its WE9 dammit:)

Yes I wrote about that in the PES5 impressions thread, comparing WE9 with PES5...

In other words WE9 has no semi-auto crossing or through pass.

When doing a normal through pass (pressing only Triangle) inside the
opponents area or near it, if not directed with analogue stick the same
will happen, you do a shit pass or the ball ends up as a goal kick for opponents.

Tactically I find this good, as now you need to be more precise when crossing as power will count and at the same time you need to
aim/direct ball to the area.

I also have noticed that PES5 (PAL or NTSC mode) is much faster paced than WE9.

I only say to drag and drop the files that way because i just did it at least 3 times and always work with me!
I use to do as you said when burning with nero (in PES4).
First i open the game dvd, choose view list, and then i import to nero the files in the same order as they where displayed in game dvd. This was util when Black Screen appears and i must replace 'WE9_OP.PSS' in order to work.

With WEMERICA 4 Final this problem doesn't appear anymore, at least to me!

If someone cant play the game using drag and drop files just post and i change the tutorial.

Sorry boys, but this one is crap. :(

Freezes often (very often in Edit Mode)
Bad Music (the ML Menu Musik repeats every min. and bores after a couple of hours)
Bad Fan Chores in game, stotters sometimes, repeat sometimes every sample over a minute...makes crazy.

The only 2 real good things are the trikots and the realnames, but not every last transfer is in.

At least i rate you to get your fingers away from this...this is all but never FINAL!!

About freezing problem i think we could nam'it "Adidas Bug", Since it occurs with Leverkusen, Bayer Munich, FC Nurnberg, Saint-Etienne and Anderlecht itch one off the use Adidas equipment.

Gladly the other Adidas equiped teams dont show any glynch.
