I've seen many users use different names for pro evolution soccer and it seems to reflect their level of intelligence. :D

People who call it "Pro"

These are the guys who haven't read past the first word because it's too long, they call it pro because they don't know what the other words are or mean and they think it sounds cool, they also don't fully know what pro means they just know its someone highly skilled in an area without ever fully knowing the whole word which is of course "professional"

People who call it "Pro Evo"

These are the guys who have been there since the beginning! They've played ISS first and played it right through to PES. Of course when it was ISS it got to the point where it was called ISS pro evolution and for that there is no easy abreviation which is where "pro evo" came from. They have gotten into the habit of calling it this from the early days and they'll never get out of it which is not a problem. These guys know their PES, they are cool people and usually a laugh. They know their stuff without being too geeky about it.

People who call it "PES"

Probably at first didn't know that the game had anything to do with ISS, they thought it was new from the word PES and this was the first one they played without knowing that it related to ISS. Everything is in there, every word is counted for and these are the guys who are the most passionate about pes since it has been called pro evolution soccer.

People who call it all three.

the cameleon blends to match its surroundings. They may even call it fifa sometimes ;). They have been around the clock, they have played many football games including fifa and tif and compared the lot, knowing that the best one is pro evolution soccer, never quite knowing exactly what to call it however they will call it whatever everyone else in the group they are in is calling it at the time. Not so much a tag along, they just want to communicate Pro Evolution Soccer in the best possible way to others.

People who still call it ISS

Yeah I know a few, but they are true veterans, they are the "too busy to think about what game I'm playing" type so they just call it by the one they played first. Remind you somewhat of a grandad who still calls a radio a "wireless" but they know fully what radios do.

I am the cameleon... what are you... and are there any names I've missed?

oh dear! really sorry about that! It's late!

OK if an admin could add the word "UK" to the thread title that'd be appreciated.

I don't know the character type of people who call it WE cos I don't know anyone :D maybe you would do that prekki?

Does anyone actually call it we? as in the word "we"?

i call it winning eleven

Edit: haha kev, thats part of the sentence i meant to type, but then we had an emergency at work so i had to run upstairs, and unfortunately i don't remember the rest of the sentence....

but yea thats what i call it, and ive never heard of any one calling it "we", i only have 3 friends who actually play the game b/c in america most people don't understand the amazingness that is WE

I call it Pro because it's easiest to communicate.
When I want a game with a housemate I just say 'pro' in an enquiring tone.
I do probably sound pretty cool saying it tho.

I got a guy in my class, a real bragger and always calls it "Pro". Maybe I should teach him the true "PES" ways ;)

We don't really need a name for it in my house... 'game?' normally suffices.

I used to call it PES (pronounced pez) but since moving to Leeds I am converting to Pro Evo since that seems to more commonly used. Though I sometimes slip back into my old ways.

Well... we don't call it anything because they (my friends) always know that I’m referring to it and it’s the same the other way round as well.

Mr Lover Man
When Iss first changed to Pro evolution soccer me and my friends still called it ISS "wanna game of iss?" then we tried calling it p-e-s that didnt take off so just call it pro. "game of pro?" although now and again the odd "pro-evo?" comes out.

I call it ISS when I'm playing it with my mates who have been there from the beginning. If it's anyone else I call it Pro Evo.

I've always called it Pro Evo. A weird thing is, when I was playing the original ISS me and Jag always used to call it Issue Pro for some odd reason.
