Get a load of games that are good but dirt cheap. Conflict Global Storm is £12 on Play.com. I have seen Super Monkey Ball Deluxe for very cheap at just £8 pre-owned.

You can get some really good multi player games for a long session with mates for literelly nothing. Redcard Football ain't great but brilliant for tense games with mates.

Just a suggestion for a different take on your problem.
