to Pro Evo?

I always use to own a variety of Football games. On the Mega Drive I had Super Kick Off, European Champions, Fifa etc.. until I got a PS2 and discovered Pro Evo 4.

This game was superb and at last allowed me to edit what I liked with loads of options for doing kits and badges. I have been an avid Pro Evo-er since then and finally ditched my PS2 last month and got an Xbox 360.

The Xbox came with Fifa 09. I had a dabble with it and must say I was impressed. Saying that though I still missed a-lot of the features that make Pro Evo a superior game. So I flogged Fifa and a few other games and got a copy of Pro Evo 2010 off ebay for £24.

First impressions were impressive. The menu screen looked slick and the before game screen was smart. I liked the fact I had loads of more options to tinker with my side. When the players came out the tunnel I was very impressed with the graphics and build-up.

Then the game kicked-off....

Dear oh dear. It is dreadful. I could have cried. The movement feels forced (something I always felt more so in Fifa games), the pitch does not seem big enough for the play, when passing the ball I felt it was an epic struggle for the player involved and then the cream of the crop was the stupid sideways shuffle moonwalk the players preform when tracking the opposition. It's almost like Konami have thought 'sod the superb game we've brought out year after year, let's release a shower of shyte'.

I was quite prepared to manual edit the whole game but it really ain't worth the hassle. My mate has FIFA 2010 which I played and must say I was impressed with and enjoyed alot. The game flows and the fact that it does not need editing is a bonus.

I have since sold my copy of PES to some unlucky soul for what I paid for it and ordered FIFA.

Hopefully Konami can sort this choss out next year but I don't see how considering the game has got worse with each year for the last 3.

Well having bought FIFA 10 and having players dissapear into thin air on MM i ditched it.Maybe you should go to a EA sports forum and talk FIFA up if you arent happy with PES.We cant talk about next years game just yet

You dont like PES, I do. We've covered this ground in many many threads already. You've already sold the game, why bother commenting, its pointless.

PES 2010 is a much better game than PES 2009. FIFA 10 is not much of an improvement on FIFA 09. Ive played both.

Thats not to say that PES 2010 has its problems, but, I like it

i agree with the OP. i have played plenty of games of Pro2010 and 95% have been unenjoyable IMO. I found the game very enjoyable from Pro1-Pro6 and was addicted. Pro08 and 09 less so but still playable. pro2010 - annoying, unresponsive, not fun and barely playable. IMO

Playing PES2010 with poor teams can make you frustrated with the game. I started a Master League with the default ML players (i.e. Minanda etc) and it's almost unplayable. But, when you play with the better teams ,PES2010 is a good game.

Agreed. I played through a Euro as England on professional as the first thing I did on the game, and won easily. Crank the difficulty up, and I had some good games. Started a ML as my beloved Wolves, and it was like I'd been secretly injected with spastic serum. Playing with the weaker teams, it feels like a sunday league game or something...

Pes needs to improve the defending system (they need to close you down earlier and tackle more) but less AI cheating (make it possible to outrun the defender). Also sort out the movements. But with all that, pes 2010 is still really enjoyable. Much better than pes 09. And goal variety is there again. BAL is addictive (although it's frustrating), ML is awesome and the game overall is good.

Greats post

but Bal is poor and repetitive (it has soo much potential and can do alot better)and the computer moves your player way too often

but my biggest gripe with the gamr is the passing and passes not going where you want if i want a pass to a player straight ahead why is it going to a guy on the right and this is with cesc ???

^The passes will get better. That's what I said at first. Now it's not such an issue anymore except for BAL but that's because my player is still not good in passing. Try 1 2's often btw.
As for BAL. Yes the com does move your player, but that's mostly because we press L1 button when passing and that's an auto one two move.
I know there are other situations where the com controls your player, but it's getting better with every season (it seems so far).
