You guys claim to want realism, then cry and whine when the passing isn't like PE5, which was 100% accurate and exact.
Because that's realistic? Pardon me, but I don't know of any footballer in the world who makes deft passes all day long, to say nothing of the D2 scrubs you start a master league with.
Realistic passing means that sometimes when you mash the pass button it's not going to go exactly where you want it to. A lot of the time I feel like I'm cheating because with class players you can easily pass it through a defense without a problem. Yet even with a team of Rooney's I don't expect my passes to be spot on all the time. It's called the beautiful game, not the perfect game. When you mash a button and your player doesn't perform a 100% perfect placement, that's a reflection of reality.
As far as the shooting goes, I hold R2 when I shoot and if I'm in close with an open net, it goes in almost every time. Almost. Which is perfectly accurate in my opinion. Perhaps the most unrealistic thing about the entire game is how dominant some players are, like Rooney after 5 or 6 years, he's absolutely assured a hat trick in almost every match, but that's because you're playing a flawed computer that can only perform a limited number of defense computations to stop you.
I play on 6*, and the competition when I'm playing with average to solid players is excellent. Only when I field a full team of players over 90 does the game start to feel too easy. It's odd that some people say that their players never anticipate and the computer always gets the ball, because I find the opposite is true -- my team absolutely decimates control of the match, unless I'm playing an elite team.
The only real gripe I have (and it's been mentioned in this thread) is that some of the speedier players seem to be slowed a bit when playing the computer. That being said, I find that Dagaka or Rooney can still outpace the defense most of the way up the field, unless they are being pursued by another great player.
The biggest change I made was learning to use R2 in combination with my shot. Now I never take a shot from 10m in without it, and usually out to about 18 it can be quite clever.
Don't spout off at a game just because it's a challenge. That's no way to be.
