Where you pre-ordering/buying your game from?

Took you're advice and cancelled my play.com one. Awaiting shopto.net to finalise my registration!!

Glad you took my advice :) I don't know how Play.com have got the cheek to charge £40 when most places are selling it for £30-35.

Only worry now is whether the postal strike will cause the delivery to be delayed :crymore:

Nobody has pre-ordered from CDWOW? :(

I don't trust CD Wow anymore. They took over a month to deliver a CD to me and there average delivery is usually 7-10 days in my previous experience.

I also hate the fact that they charge ridiculous prices for DVD's :realmad:

A DVD that is £5 on Amazon or Play will usually be £11.99 on CD Wow. Only thing I use them for is cheap CD's when they send me a £1 voucher.

Ah pre-orders are the past for me know.

Looking at the prices I might never pre-order again..

Modern Warfare 2 Online price is about £44.99
But if I go for a midnight release at ASDA or Tesco it would probably be £40 or less. Saves me a few quid.

And PES2010 too, Online price from sites I trust is about £34.99 to £39.99. (Trusted sites such as GAME and Gamestation which I only use to pre-order)
But if I got for a midnight or daytime release at ASDA or Tesco it would probably be £30.00 or less.

Defo saves me a few quid. I've got a budget on Video game spending lol. At the moment I've got around £60 for both MW2 and PES, I already spent £40 on FIFA after pre-ordering (for the last time) and then finding out it was £24.99 in Tesco on the release date.
But after spending around £20 - £35 on PES i'll surely have enough for MW2...

Can't wait for October 23rd (LESS THAN 2 WEEKS NOW)
And I can't wait for November 10th (LESS THAN A MONTH NOW)

Royal Mail to be hit by rolling strikes

POSTAL union leaders are considering launching 10 days of rolling strikes that could leave a backlog of 100m undelivered letters.

The crippling industrial action, which could start as early as next week, would encourage hundreds of Royal Mail customers to defect to other providers.

The “nuclear option” is being weighed up this weekend by Dave Ward, chief negotiator for the Communication Workers Union (CWU). Tomorrow he will offer for the first time to go into mediation with Royal Mail bosses and call for an independent inquiry into working conditions at the postal service.

A CWU source said: “If this is not taken up by the company, then that almost certainly means there will be a series of rolling strikes. The earliest they could start would be the following Monday.”

About 61,000 of more than 140,000 postal workers voted to strike last week in a dispute over modernisation that will involve thousands of job losses.

One source said: “Ten days of rolling strikes is being talked about — that
is the nuclear option. Another is a combination of one-day national walkouts followed by three-day rolling strikes. Nothing has been ruled out yet.”

Post-Switch, a firm that helps companies set up contracts with DHL, UK Mail and other private delivery services, said it has seen a threefold increase in business in three months.

Wasn't meant as a joke lol, Wall Mart is called ASDA over here and their bigger stores are open 24-hours. That's where I'm getting my copy.

Oh My bad, well I have never purchased a game from Walmart, personally I think its a crappy place to get stuff like games, well maybe if i want groceries I could go there... Anyway this whole Royal Mail strike will affect those in the U.S more than those in the U.K as thats the only way we will be able to get our stuff delivered here...

I was thinking about that, what are the queues like at ASDA at midnight ? Anyone ever done it before ?

I went last year to the Glasgow one. Got there around 11:50 and there was about 30 people already waiting with raffle tickets that the customer service people had handed out as they came in, making sure whoever came for the game first, got it first and there wasn't a big stampede .

I went last year it was, a bit hectic, everyone managed to get a copy...i think....but i got there at about 11:40 thinking ill just look around and then go to the till but as i arrived i joined the back of the que which was half way around the toy aisle and then as i was waiting the que again doubled insize!

i think this was part down to the fact that they were selling it for 20pound also though, i dont belive they are doing that same promotion this year so should not be as bad, either way i will be at asda on midnight of release:)
