Who plays Fifa?

Just wondering if people on here play Fifa?

Me, most of my family(everyone apart from my 8 year old cousin) play PES, my friends all play PES. I get the Celtic View and LFC magazine just abour every week and on the players bits often read them talking about playing PES.

I was going to and still might get Fifa 10 (I will get PES anyway) but ive always felt it to be a more childish game, given that I dont know anybody that plays it apart from my one cousin and reading people on the internet who i often perceive to also be younger probably kids aswell.

Should I bother buying Fifa 10 or should I just take my my cousins Fifa 09 and try it?

**If this is in the wrong section it is I see the other gaming section now :$ (I cant be bothered signing up to a FIFA forum and probably wont get and good opinions on the game there anyway.

jokes aside, it has got better over the last few years, and some PES fans recognise that and have bought it. I've played it, and it is good, but has some annoying problems and for me it just doesn't quite feel right. IMO.

Its up to you mate, but i would say that PES is the more engrossing and fulfilling game of the two

Well, ive played most Fifa games including Fifa09 and Fifa10. Tbh Fifa10 doesn't have many improvements over Fifa09, so it might be worth borrowing your cousin's copy first just to get a general idea, but there is a couple of things in the core gameplay of Fifa10 that improve the overall football experience compared to previous years, like reaction times and general player movement.
Personally my opinion would be to rent Fifa10 for a few days if you've warmed to Fifa09 and see how you like it because its quite different to PES anyway.
I certainly dont think there's any harm in having both titles in your collection these days, but from experience ive found Fifa to always be the one that starts collecting dust outta the two after a few months. PES does generall have a longer lifespan. However its worth noting that Fifa10 can be bought for around £25 at Asda at the moment which is a solid deal for any brand new high profile game to be honest.

Well my FIFA game decided to fuck up today it's done what it did when i was online when the ball goes out of play the screen goes black. When i start the game up the menu won't even show as the start button doesn'tr seem to recognise.

So i'll refund it tomorrow and wait for PES can't be fucked with shite like this.

I played FIFA 09 only because so many people on here did, Club Mode was fun and I was up for the odd 1v1 game but I needed to practice by playing against the console.

I play FIFA 10 because I enjoy playing Club Mode and the offline game is superb which wasn't the case with 09. Very important.

Play FIFA 09 and then FIFA 10 straight after; I know which one is better and I'm confident you will, after playing both...

Playing Fifa because i got it for £25!
When playing PES im an ML nut,so ive started playing MM on FIFA.I think that apart from the online (which i havent tried yet as i havent bought FIFA since 98!)this will be the main reason for its longevity.
Well i had a look at the EA forum and all the FIFA guys are moaning about MM!Seems the board are all too ready to sack you at around ten matches and the games get stuck in certain weather or time situations.I havent expereinced this yet but after reaching the third round of the cup i didnt have enough players to take part!The board without my knowledge had sold a player id only signed afew matches previously!WTF!
Not happy!So am a little dissapointed with MM although buying players is a lot easier than ML which seems to just strive to do your head in when trying to sign certain players without reason.
I dont think theres anything wrong with having both games as its the individuals decision which game of the two they will hopefully be playing next September.
Ive got a feeling mine may be PES though

Well, id like to just quote a part of my previous post in my defense.

Basically what i mean is, feature wise i dont feel Fifa10 has been improved alot from Fifa09, so you can get a decent idea of what kinda game Fifa10 is as a whole if you're not too familiar with the series, but because of a couple improvements in actual core gameplay there is a fair difference in match play itself.

Im enjoying playing Fifa10 atm. Me and my mate(who bought it on release) have had a few sessions on it and have definitely enjoyed the gameplay improvements.

My main concern for the game now is all the reported glitches from Fifa fans that have been flooding into forums. Mainly regarding Manager Mode(which is what me and my mate have been spending most our time on..DOH!). I only found this out today. Some very weird goings on by the looks of it. Your Gk getting all stats for assists that other players have made when he hasn't actually performed one...teams selling players you have loaned out to them etc etc. There's like a list of about 60-70 glitches listed! Crazy! I guess EA will get onto patching alot of things though. They should do anyway. I think they've already released one patch for finesse shooting.

Yeah I was debating joinging you guys. the problem is the time differnce since I am in the United States. As for attacking roles, my player is a striker but I will play anywhere Does it matter what your Virtual Pro is set to? Can I play anwhere on the pitch even if I am a ST?

Yep!

I did have a 6'2 striker built like Iaquinta so was loathe to play anywhere other than RS but now I'm 5'10 so can play as a playmaker or wide attacking midfielder like Rosina...except more effective.

For me as a huge fan of last gen pes fifa 10 is by far the best football game ever made. Manual fifa is almost eerily realistic and a huge challenge
