who went back to play PES6 after the playing the disastrous PES2008

Funny you should say that, ive had Pro evo on 360 and ps2, if you have to play pro evo 2008, buy it on ps2, because its like an updated pro evo 6, however the CPU still cheats like mad and the passing and timing is well off.
Today i smashed my copy and am playing ps2 pro evo 6 right now, the game is much better, feels like ive come home after 2 years in Iraq. lol.
I did the same today, just connected my PS2 today and played PES6...wow it felt good, I think am g onna stick to it

I saw some people in another thread claiming pro evo 2008 is a great game, i nearly had a hernia, they cant be playing master league on Very Hard/Top Player, they must be on regular or summin going for the glory. Ive never been so disapointed in a game, Konami actually took the game BACKWARDS lol, Less options, less Variety and some of the worst gameplay ever, the player stats dont mean jack, the worst player on the pitch can dribble though about 10 players with aid of about 10 deflections (because you know in pro evo 2008 you gotta tackle a player 35 times to actually get the ball) and smack it in the net from 25 yards, all pro evos have cheated to a degree, but pro evo 2008 is insane, ive lost count of how many times ive been well ahead in a game and CPU scores some insane consolation goal.
I was dispointed as well, I bought my PS3 just for PES2008, people warned me and they told me not to buy it but I didnt listen to them! like you, I never been so dispointed on a game, I was expecting more from Konami for a next gen game, but at least I kept my PS2, so now am gonna stick to PES6, until next year and hopefully Konami will give us a good game
however I heard that PES2008 for the PS2 and PSP is good, just like the previous PES, ill rent it to see if its true

When you 1st play it on ps2, you'll love it, then you will realise. Its the same thing all over again, but in a different form, try it out, play Inter milan in the san siro a few times, see how many games you can go without conceding a goal lol, you'll be amazed at what you see. lol.
Ive learnt my lesson now, its Pro evo 6, and if next years pro evo is crap, its no more football games, i cannot being myself to play fifa, its pathetic.
FIFA08 for PS3 is good but it just doest feel the same, maybe cause I got used to PES

i dont think pes 2008 is as bad as everyone says it is. sure it's lacking in editing features and what not but i just play it for the offline multiplayer, against a brother or a mate, and for that i think its fine, the gameplay is fine.
you have the PS2 or PS3 version?? for PS2 I can understand if you say its good but on the other hand the PES2008 they made for the PS3 is a disaster

PES 2008 on PS3 is good for offline against a mate, but the solo game is a tad annoying. I have to admit that i recently fired up PES6 on my shiny black PS3 and haven't touched 2008 since.
Might be trade-in time... (probably only get a lousy couple of quid mind)
yea with friends its alright....I hade to plug in my ps2 again because I have the 40gb one so it doesnt read the ps2 games!...but I dont think I will touch PES2008 again

I also bought my PS3 solely for PES and that I found out it really does suck (its fine if you're drunk and back home late). Since I am more into slower, more realistic soccer, I bought FIFA 08.. thoroughly pleased with it. And now.. we all just wait in silence.. for GTA!
FIFA is good too, but you just dont get hooked on it like PES did

I'll tell you what; when you watch real football, you will notice different styles of play i.e: English football is aggressive, tough and rough (fweather conditions creates more endurance), Italian Football is more strategic, you see teams trying take advantage on mistakes and interception flaws, the South Americans have style and indulge in more dribbling etc.. etc..
And it is these different styles of play that make up the technical foundations of the game, that result in the beauty of the sport.. Upto PES 4/5, we had this.. PES 6 was a bit more fast and after that its all been hogwash.. sadly, for the very first time ever, I've seen this style of play in FIFA, its entirely up to everyone's opinion in what they see, but when I play FIFA, I feel like I am playing as ROMA or Liverpool, with PES its just run and shoot!

good point however I enjoy more PES6 on the PS2 than FIFA08 on PS3
well said bongplayer i agree with you 100%, forget pes 2008 itz all about pes4 and pes5, anyone who thinks pes 2008 is a good game needs der head checkin coz fifa 08 on next gen has taken the crown this year and it will continue to do so datz if konami dont fix up n start listening to the fans then itz goodbye pes (i bet half the konami staff that made pes2008 are playing fifa 08 as we speak)

PES 06 is tosh, if you're going back for better gameplay go all the way back to 04. If not for me at least the gameplay is better in 08 even if they could and should do much much better
