With WENB releasing in game images of superb looking edited kits the question begs.

Which site will be bum rushed first by David Rutter and gang and slapped with a lawsuit concerning option files?

I do remember Hitman corking us up last year but I expect another swipe from EA

1) Pesgaming
2) WENB
3) Pesfan
4) Other (please specify)
5) None (they don't need to PES is dead)

Well PESFAN have strict rules so I doubt it will be them.
Probably us :)

I just had a gander on WENB and must say I'm really impressed with the kits and badges :)

As far as i know it will be absolutely free to download from their site or linked from a file sharing site and it will be the PS3 option file only ( for now ) as i think they only have the PS3 version in their possession at this time.

I get where you're coming from... :shifty:

but legally, if they do sell it, they will be in serious trouble.

Kinda on topic, and possibly a stupid question, but here goes;

I know nothing about law and licensing specifically, but what would happen if Konami, next year for this fantasy example, decided to just at least name all the teams the correct names and named the leagues and cups and stadiums ect, without actually licensing the kits ?
What would the ramifications involve? Why is a club/stadium name even licensed? It's such an absurd concept to me, but like i say, i am sure there are legal reasons why. Especially seeing as it's Konmai making a computer football game with a vast track record of excellence, they're hardly going to use licenses inappropriately?
I'm sure i'm missing the point here, but it's just irritating that the world works in the way it does nowdays, in that people only want to join in, if they are getting well paid for it. Thank heavens for a great ediing mode this year, but even that can't work 100% of the time so it seems that Arsenal fans ( amongst others possibly ) are going to be slightly disappointed in the fact that their home kit can't be made accurately ( as far as we know up until now anyway ).

Would it be a case of Konami getting sued squillions of dollars/yen/pounds for breaking the rules i assume ?

What do you think the chances are of Konami ploughing a shitload of money into buying certain licences or buying the all-encompasing FIFPRO one come 2010?

If Konami were to do something as stupid as that it might spell the end of Pes. Lawsuits would be flying in left right and center. Don't worry though they never will

As for why clubs and stadiums are licensed is cuz they make money. It costs money to visit a stadium to see a match and clubs are all about selling their image (merchandise). Another company like Konami can't sell someone else's image without sharing the profits with the owners. That's why licensing fees exist. Football is a business before it's a sport

I dont know what deals EA have but I imagine it's quite heavy. You cant have rights to names such as manchester or newcastle but KONAMI had to remove this feature also they had to completely remove the german league else they would've been sued. I hope EA rather just let it go considering they are very successful with 09 but I doubt and with the whole la liga exclusivity. I think they going for the jugular from here on. It sucks but that is business.
