Will PES 2009 (uk) play in North American PS3?

dont think it will, on the ps2, usa cds showed up black and white, since in the uk its PAL and usa's something different

Yes, for the PS3 it will as all PS3 games are region free.
However, we will only if Konami intends to implement region restrictions
on the 360 when the game comes out, so 360 users will have to wait for release.

Ofcourse this is relevant only to playing offline as I am sure if you get the UK version you will be unable to play on American servers, unless if Konami makes a universal server or something.

Forget about that.. Konami will release PES in Europe and North America at the same time. Have they ever done that before??

But anyways, it will be interesting to see how sales go in the US. Some US Customers will (should) choose PES instead of the same Old FIFA.

How do you know the game will be released in America and Europe at the same time? many sites state a release date for America: March 31st 2009.

PS3 is region free, Euro game will run fine in an american PS3, a HDTV is needed though, you wont see a thing if you have a SDTV.

Xbox360 euro games ARE NOT compatible with american 360.

You guys are right, release date in America has changed to "Q4 2008", IGN says it'll be December 31st 2008 though.

I really don't see the point of releasing it by the 31st of December -because- by that time most US customers will already be playing FIFA09.

That will be good for FIFA -however- that date release doesn't helps Konami at all, at least not in the US market.

Still, it is kind of cool.. a good way to start 2009.

That's also my point.. I mean, what's the point of releasing it by the 31st of December?? Most US customers will already be playing FIFA09 by then.

A December 1st date would be much wiser, maybe even by November.. But December 31st isn't good at all.

I think it is a matter of opinion, some people DO like it.. But personally, I thought the game was a complete waste of Time. Whenever I play nowadays, I play PES6.

And again, in my opinion, Good Games stand the test of TIME. This is why PES5 is still a good game today, this is also why many PES fans still play PES6 -and- this is also why PES08 turns Old after 3 hours of playing it.

But I guess, PES08 did have some good things if you dig deep enough. Maybe we'll get to see what PES08 should have been with PES09.

See idk why ppl dont like for real......I played PES5 and PES6 and i liked both alot but to me PES7 is the best one without a doubt. Ppl talk about how its easy to run through with one guy and all and its too fast....i just dont see it. Pace seems fine and i think its a matter of playing defense cuz i never have high scoring games even though my offensive RATING is "A"

Are you talking about the PS2 version of PES08 -or- the PS3 version??

Yeah, it's been said the 360 version is better than the PS3 versions.

But still, the reason I don't like PES08 is because it is NOT what I think a Football Sim should be. In my opinion, the game fails to implement (capture) many Essential Aspects about Football. And considering that Next Gen Consoles are capable of a much better game.. I cannot see how PES08 wasn't disappointing.

It was ridiculously fast, "Pace" and "Shooting Power" where extremely Overrated, Technical Skill was nowhere to be seen, and the Tactical approach of the game was very poor.

I mean, a Football Sim that discourages Tactical Play -and- encourages one-dimensional (predictable, boring) Play -regardless- of what Type of Players (and Team) you have.. a Football Sim with such traits will always be disappointing.

That said, Some people do like it, you like it.. But "maybe" once you get to play a really good Football Sim -you- might look back on PES08 and think "How in hell did I liked that game".

yeah maybe i mean from what i read so far about pes2009 i think it might turn out to be the best soccer game ever to be honest with you.....i still think PES2008 had alot of flaws but comapared to fifa it was AWESOME....but pes2009 i think will really take soccer into another level gameplay wise
