Dont you think its annoying that there is Winning Eleven and Pes?

Unlike our japanese friends they get 2 versions of pro every year, thats kinda unfair. Wouldn't it be easier for konami aswell to only release one version of the game instead of basically having four versions of pro every year. All of which have been improved against previous versions (If only slightly) An example is, Winning eleven 8 jap, winning eleven 8 liveware, Pro evolution 4 and winning eleven 8 Usa version.

If they want to keep the name winning eleven and pro evolution for the diffrent regions, thats okay, but it would be easier/better to only have 2 versions of the game that come out the same time in all countries. I also feel this way becasue of every year, the Winng Eleven Improved and next WE edition come out, before the one and only pes game of the year comes out. :(

I agree mate.

I have no idea why Konami feel they need to release 3 versions of the Winning Eleven games (inside 12 months) for the Japanese and US territories.

And it can be argued that these are two areas of the world that arguably aren't as "passionate" about football as Europe is.

I just can't understand it, I really can't.

North America only gets one release. But anyway... Winning Eleven in Japan is HUGE. There is enough of a market to sell 3 games a year there. Here, could you honestly see yourself wanting to shell out 3 times a year? Probably not.

Actually, I would be willing to buy 3 different versions of the game.

I've been buying the PES games since the very beginning (ISS Pro on PS1/PSX). But I don't see why I shouldn't buy the different versions of the game if they released them here.

In fact, I'd jump at the chance to buy a tweaked, updated version of PES5. ;)

Yes but you have to appriciate the gaming market here is not as "hardcore" as in Japan. Most people in Europe would not fork out an extra 30 quid for a slightly tweaked game.

I get the impression that the WE series is better than PES. Is this true?

I think that releasing one Konami football game would be a good idea. Hopefully it would mean an even better end result.

My copy (North American) doesn't have that, and it was released just this past month (Feb).

Anyway the only thing that tees me off is the difference in dates. The new WE10 is set to come out in April currently; if that's true and they also release the American version at the scheduled time, that's nearly a year's difference. I mean, I just got WE9 and soon I'll have to read about features and upgrades in WE10. Blah.

At least you actually get the game in America now... better than 3 years ago.

As for the WC qualification, that was basically were you played as Japan and took them as far as you could. Obviously this was dropped for Euro/NA releases.

I have no idea why people get so confused over this. US WE and Europe PES are exactly the same every year. They're just called something different and they're released in a different format in different countries at a different time of the year. But the games are exactly the same. What they do in Japan doesn’t really interest me or affect me in any way as I don't want to go through the hassle that is required to play one of their games on my PS2.

I was on about the diffrence of Jap and Uk/Usa versions. i only metioned the usa version because its released at a diffrent time, you are right in saying there are no gameplay diffrences but WE get nike balls for some reason.

Also WE get the nippon challenge, and from what ive heard this is a great feature. I think it should be that one WE/Pes game comes out at around late march or early april and the other on october. Basically they should use the release dates of winning eleven: improvement edition and the current pes release dates. This could work cause then we have all the new transfers on each edition.

I agree. There should be one worldwide version, with one worldwide release date. If Konami piled all of their efforts into one release, then it might make an even better game for us all.
