Today I recieved a call from microsoft counterparts confirming the price that the 360 will be sold at, now there are TWO versions coming out, one costs 209.99 and the other 279.99 the more expensive has a large differnce compared to the cheaper one.

Im definatly getting the Premium system as in the long run it works out cheaper than the Core system as the hard drive will cost around £50-£70.

Plus Im going to get Project gotham Racing 3, Ghost Recon 3 and Need For Speed: Most Wanted and another wireless controlar so it will work out like £350+

You will also not have any backwards compatability without a hard drive in the machine, they are apparently including an emulator on the drive which will be used to play most major xbox title.

I've already pre-ordered mine as there's too long to wait for the PS3.

the one at £210 will not be able to play pes5 as it is not backwards compatible,but the one at £280 will.

I cant see the attraction of the xbox360 myself, because its obvious that the ps3 will have far more capabilities and will blow the xbox out of the water when it comes out.

However microsoft have made a super smart move getting their product out first.

Of course Ryder, you discovered this with all that insider information you have? I think the PS3 will be marginally better but nothing like you're suggsting. However the Xbox360 still looks an amazing machine and will certainly keep me going until the PS3 is launched.

Its going to be better than anything out now but if you look at the spec of both machines ps3 has more going for it and the sales figures should prove that despite the xbox release date.

The $299 system, has a wired controller, no HDD, and no HD (high definition) cables out of the box. You have to pay $399 for a wireless controller, a 20 GB HDD , and HD cables. So did Microsoft not just lose the few things they had going for them?

No HDD=no MMPORGS's out of the box
no wireless controllers or HD cables, means its just an Xbox 1.5 out of the box.
And lets not forget that Live will probably cost $50-$60 dollars a year, multiply that by 5, and Microsoft has no advantage.

It's $299 for a system that has better graphics than an Xbox nothing else, and you still have to pay to go online. None of the features they've been claiming with the Xbox360 are capable without and HDD out of the box.
It just has better graphics, yay? And it still has a DVD drive. wow

Read this last week, big arguements going on in the foras dedicated to consoles. It's a cheap console because it's not using any new technology. The ps3 will be wifi, blue-tooth enabled (wireless controllers), has shed loads of usb ports, a new type of cpu, online out-the-box, high definition, backwards compatible and use blu-ray discs. Fair enough all of the new technology looks like an expensive extravagance now but give it a couple of years and you'll be glad you got it.
