360 cant do 1080p it upscales it just like if i put an ordinary old dvd im my ps3 the disk isnt high definition but it upscales it to 1080p to give it a shade sharper resolution but it doesnt mean my old matrix film is 1080 hd

Cod 4 and metal gear solid 4 are 720p hd but are upscaled to 1080p in the same way but the difference upscaling from the 720p hd is hardly noticeable unless its a still picture and not as much as something thats not hd in the first place

^What? If the 360 can't do 1080P neither will the ps3 then. Just an upscale. I'm not sure about the upscale though. But all games are rendered at 720P.

No the ps3 can play software thats 1080p native but the only game thats made to that so far is wipEout hd

No the ps3 version of pes 2009 only supports upto 720p, but the 360 supports upto 1080p , i wanted to know why konami done this?

This maybe be off the point but PES looks awesome on my crappy old little analog tv..thank goodness i wasnt duped into spending 1000 on a HDTV.

I've played PES on both a Standard-Definition 27" TV and a High-Definition 27" TV and the difference is ridiculous. How you can say PES looks awesome on a SDTV is beyond me, PES in HD does actually look very good, not amazing like other games such as COD:WOW and FallOut 3 but in comparison, HD is light years ahead of SD. When I played PES 2009 on a SDTV I honestly felt sick it was that poor, I wasn't used to playing with a poor image, because I'd been experiencing the joy of playing in HD for over a year.

PS: HDTV's are usually under £500 now for a good offer e.g. Samsung 32" etc.

Same here. I used to play on SD and when I swtiched to HD, Pes was vastly improved.;) It actually looks next gen on HD.

NOT 1080p native

And pes is no where near the way it should look on next gen platforms , just look at ever other sports titles out there and how realistic they look

Yep not Native 1080P Correct... but in honesty lads unless you have Eagle Eyes you arent going to notice too much difference from 720P to 1080P..... also you need a decent TV Set to notice much difference at 1080P anyhow.... 3000 for a 50" Plasma HDTV anyone? Nah not a chance.

only a few games are 1080p native, ie wipeout and virtual tennis.
360 upscales games to 1080p. its just like upscaling a dvd, it wont make much difference to how it looks. but i suppose if you have a 1080p tv you may aswell play at its max resolution.
