GAMES ARE PLAYED FOR GAMEPLAY AND ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!!!
there is no normal sane person that can tellme that they have tried both games and can honestly tell me that fifa plays better than pro. ive got both and let me tell you FIFA is going back to gamestation today!

yes there are more options and the kits are all there but in all truth who give a flying **** about that

LONG LIVE PRO EVO!!!

ps im so glad you can dive now. now thats wot i call realism. if only id stop getting booked. must have a word with steven gerrard see how he gets away with it all the time!!

Ok. Played the PES 2008 on the XBOX 360 for about 5 hours.

The gameplay is awesome, the graphics are naturally a lot better than the PES6 on the PS2. I hardly encounter slowdown, never on actual gameplay or corner or whatever, maybe, maybe sometimes during replays during the ending goal compilation. I'm using a 42" Plasma screen, connected through the component cable, full HD.

It rocks.

It's the first time I played the XBOX so it took me some time to get used to the controller.

The game is just a bit faster than PES2006 and it's OK.

I played both the CPU and my mate. The CPU is not half bad, the AI is a lot better in offense, not really in defense. The defenders still act like assholes from time to time, i.e. allowing cut backs. But the runs are a lot smarter and the passing is a bit improved.

The dribbling moves are improved and once you get used to the new animations it makes a lot of sense.

Shooting is quite similar, maybe a bit more sensivite.

Couldn't score from FKs, which I was able to do all the time. The ball just goes too high.

The PK look is shitty. What the fuck were they thinking?

So I'm pretty sure once the option file is out everything will be great.

Bottom line: If you have an XBOX 360, get the game. I wouldn't tell you to buy a console just for it, though. I just took over a console...

Couldn't tell you about the PS3 version and I wouldn't buy the PS2 version, it's just the same as an updated PES2006.

EDIT:

Very important! In the pre match menu, I couldn't find the sub menu where you tweak the players' attitude, i.e. defense style and where they run to. If the case is of me being blind, please enlighten me. If not, it sucks.

Pes 360

Right. Lets get one thing straight. Pes 2008 on (360 at least) is brilliant.
Yes it has the usual gripes i.e naff music, non-licenses etc but at its core, where it counts, its still awesome. As far as the framerates are concerned they are nothing to worry about - smooth as during play - where it matters - during replays a little but honestly who cares.

Bottom line is I don't think PES was ever meant to be a "next gen" game -it doesnt need to be. Graphics are at a good enough level, ok online needs patching but that will happen. Bottom line I played this for 6 hours straight yesterday and loved it. PES still makes you smile - and for all Fifa's gloss etc it never makes you feel like you do when you play PES.

Love it.

I share the same views, it rocks. About those player arrows and stuff, it is there, but my brother and I had some trouble locating it as well. I don't have the specific location, but I know for certain you can still change them.

Wait...
The gameplay for this game is excellent as usual. I am quite dissapointed with the edit mode to be honest, I was looking forward to editing the premiership teams and making my own teams only to find out the only way you can put sponsers on them is with the vision camera. This will no doubt shorten the single player shelf life of the game for me.

Agree with the last two/three posts, it is supoib. I was worried about the slowdown and supposed shite 'keepers, but I must be playing a different game as I've had no problems with neither.

My only real problems with the game are the fact that it is a bit fast and the fact that "them skin-head teams" can't be put into the ML, although I hope there's away around this as I'd like to use an option file with Championship clubs if possible.

I have a ML related question. When you first start the league there's a box that says "so-and-so talks about the new season." Is it possible to actually watch/read what they're saying? Also, where are the shots of the fans in the pub and stuff? I'm guessing they only happen in derby games or something..

If it's not too much of a bother, please help a lazy old man and tell me where it is.

Thanks in advance.
