A few of my predictions for tomorrow.

  • Release date - November
  • Price - £280-£350 (probably have different models similar to the 360)
  • Exclusives - Halo / Fable / Gears of War / some new IPs
  • Timed Exclusives or Exclusive DLC - CoD: Ghosts
  • Plenty of Kinect 2.0 and gimmicks like the illumiroom.
  • Entertainment Apps - Netflix/Sky/Youtube etc with much more features
  • Blu Ray Drive (finally!)
  • Similar control design to 360 but slimmer
  • NOT always online
  • Reveal of the actual console too rather than just talking about it.
  • More Xbox Live features, doubt there will be a price drop.

I don't care about the entertainment bits. It'll be region locked, so apart from the US, I doubt people from the rest of the world will get the full experience anyway.

There was definitely too much TV stuff, not enough games.

  • Blu Ray Drive

  • 8GB Ram
  • USB 3.0 Ports
  • Kinect With Every Xbox
  • Kinect now has 1080p camera
  • Intergrated Battery On Controller
  • Launching Later This Year
  • NFL TV Parternship
  • Halo TV Series, directed/produced? by Steven Spielberg
  • Timed Exclusive DLC for CoD: Ghosts
  • FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Exclusive Content
  • Forza Motorsport 5 Launch Title
  • 15 Exclusive Titles from Microsoft Studios, 8 Brand New IPs
  • Runs 3 'Operating Systems', Xbox OS, Windows, APP OS

Confirmed to run on x86 architecture like the PS4 which means no backwards compatibility.

The architecture is theoretically great news for PC users - it should mean games are relatively easy to port to PC as the instruction sets are hugely similar if not identical and should also make simultaneous development across the three major platforms (I'm not sorry Nintendo) more fluid.

Do you still need to pay for xbox live?(biggest joke going) Why would ppl choose Xbox over PS or even Wii when both offer free online gaming.

I can understand people choosing 360 over Wii considering the hardware limitations of the latter but not so much PS3 over 360. I would assume you would still need to pay for the Live service as it must be a good revenue stream when you look at how many consoles they shift.

Yeah, I have a 360 and its a great console but I will never pay to play online while there are consoles offering a similar service for free.

I don't think you can really compare Xbox Live to Nintendo's online, perhaps you can compare it to the PSN but people are willing to pay £30 (or less if you search around) for XBL.

Too much tv nonsense and I dont get their "partnership" with EA. Regardless I was never in the market for this system anyway but this was really weak. Call of Duty? A Halo tv series who cares?

edit funny comment

Runs on Windows, game needs to be installed, no secondhand games doesn't this remind you of something?

From what I've read, game installs are mandatory. If the disk is used on another account or console, they will have to pay a fee.

Well I had no interest in getting this anyway but that seals it.

I know PS4 can play used games but will it be the same scenario?

Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.

Other users on the console will be able to play that game as well, Harrison said. So you don't need to buy multiple games per family. "With the built-in parental controls of the system it is shared amog the users of the device," he said.

But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison said.

"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."
