Why not so much as help but I do wish for an answer for a question. I've looked and I can't really find an answer anywhere on the Internet. Not just here. Ready... What the hell is the meaning of a Derby??? I've tried to figure it out myself but I dont know if I have it right. I thought it was either a word you guys use for a Rivalry game or is it a game between two teams in the same city or close proxiemty of each other? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.



Oh and a side question. Does PES4 recognize or have anything remote to a derby in the game?

you are right, its pretty much a rivalry game, but more due to proximity and such

Thanks. I was kinda hoping I wasn't. But I knew I wasn't either. Yea i know that makes no sense. Anyway. Since becoming a referee for Soccer I have fallen in love with the sport and cant get enough. And that was one of the small nuances I just couldn't figure out by myself.

*Side note* I ordered Magic Disk 3 and PES4 thinking that Winning Eleven 8 wasn't coming stateside till April. Now I find out that its coming Febuary 1st. Damn there goes 60 extra dollars down the drain. Nows heres to hoping PES4 shows up before hand.

of course mate, here are a few just off the top of my head:

Arsenal v Tottenham
Arsenal v Chelsea


...basically when any London based club plays another, but those are the main two

Man Utd v Man City
Man Utd v Liverpool
Liverpool v Everton
Newcastle v Middlesborough

those are all the main derby games based upon proximity. but games with great rivalry are also be based on league position i.e.

Man Utd v Arsenal
Arsenal v Chelsea
Chelsea v Man Utd

for other leagues you have obvious ones like:

AC Milan v Inter Milan
Roma v Lazio

etc.... i've waffled enuf
