I believe you don't need to press a "skill command" so that the Ai will do anything. I think that setting is made so that you can do simple feints by just using the L-stick, depending on the situation. That's why i use it. I don't really use tricks that often also. So I just turn on "auto feint" so that the player will do some feint depending on the situation. But not sure also if it helps:D I focus more on team play than individual skills when I play.
