I would agree that he is quite possibly the "best" player overall. His only competition comes from Huddlestone and Kaiser, imo. There are better pure defenders (Bianchi, Palmieri, Bradley [the English newcomer], for instance) and attackers (Schwarz, Rowland, Nani, Benzema, etc...) out there...

VdV is one of this board's faves. A bit slow and can be injury-prone, but play him up the middle, and he'll start working wonders after a few seasons.
