My first buy is ALWAYS at least one tall, strong CB/CWP. I can manage goals fairly well with Ettori + Gutierrez/Castolo, but leaking them in back is what does the team in. If I've got money left, I'll pick up an AMF with good stamina and passing or the fastest SS/WF/CF I can find.

Are you using the specific "Add to List" function or are you adding to the "list of players for possible transfers" (or something like that)? The former just lets you keep track of certain players. The latter is where you'll get offers. Trading is the easiest way to take care of your problem...
