I think that I've found out why I received the 3-0 loss. I had possession of the ball when the game disconnected, so EA server might think that I quit the game since you're only allowed to pause the game when you have possession.

I got disconnected while playing a ranked match. The EA server decided to punish me by giving the automatic 3-0 loss. Lame. I'm very sure that I've had a few disconnections before and I've never been awarded the 3-0 win.
