People who make PC patches have been doing this for a while. There is one person who has edited the PESEdit patch for every version this year with full names in lower case, even.

Hmm.. there isn't any need to open the savegame.txt - maybe that is having an effect on it. This is strange. Do you have a working, editable PC version of the file? Let me try converting it back for you. PM me a link to it or something.

The eyes aren't how Konami made them though. It's a glitch. You can look at the faces on other games to see a lot of these players don't have blue eyes. Mu Kanazaki (Nurnberg) is one good example - I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese person with blue eyes. But fair enough, it's your choice :)
