I know. And it's so easy to get it to boot up your backup discs. All you need to do is to download and install a new firmware for the drive and that's it. After that, you can put any type of disc in there and it will boot up. No modchip and no finagling the drive required either.

You're going to need to download and install a Firmware Update to 1.60. Some people here are reporting that PES6 works fine on a PS3 with the 1.60 firmware installed so maybe you should give it a go.
