But tbh I would prefer to sign 3-5 good players with price 4-7mlns for each,than Messi alone for 20 mlns,its more effective.

It doesnt definitely means you'll lose money in competitions everytime,couse with messi/villa,etc., you'll have more of chances for competition playoffs. Also good players is a best way to promote your team in higher Div.

Try to play Cup's in coach/manager mode too.Even if your line up still doesnt looks really strong for manual mode,with reasonable formation/set-ups it has enough of chances to win/draw sometimes in coach/manager mode.
