it certainly is intriguing. unless there was some foreign guy who pronounced 'Chelsea' as 'Celery'. then it was just a piss-take from there. or maybe the sing in the game was just a matter of terrible translation and its just a coincedence that chelsea sing, for some obscure reason, about celery.

i think it started at aston villa away a couple of years ago.

Just had a word with my old man, apparently, Celery started at a cup game in the early 80's when a fella got up to shout out the letters in Chelsea and missed out the H. So it went C....E....L the crowd picked up on it and one person shouted out E...R....Y.

Since then Newcastle, Palace and Gillingham to name a few have tried to steal it, but everyone knows it's a Chelsea song.

but that wont be why its in pro evo, they couldnt cos of licencing! ;)
liscesing wont be needed for chants like that. if they put 'Hail Hail' on a sign, it would be perfectly fine because it isnt quoting the whole song or they coul just disenvoy any and all knowledge of the song's existence.

agreed, chants would be great. but how could it be done? would it be done in a different game and use software similar to EA's woeful football fusion? frankly, the only improvement needed instantaneously is referees. they are too strict with the player and too lenient with the computer. all graphical improvements are really just fringe benefits, ie. arms on the shadows, BETTER CROWDS!!!!, visible referees linesmen 4th official and managers/bench, visible subs training on the sideline, etc.
