Ok so a fair few reviews have not been heaping the praise on PES 2010 but I'm still holding out hope. After all, these reviews are only one persons opinion and if you compare IGN's review to Eurogamers it's like they're talking about a different game!
I've been on metacritic as I was curious as to how the reviews compare to last year. While I was on there I looked at PES 2008 and I couldn't believe my eyes!!! Now, for me, PES 2008 was the low point of the whole series for Konami. It was too fast, far too easy and just seem to be lazily put together.
Here's a few reviews on PES 2008:
94% - Games Master UK- "Quite simply a footy fans' dream come true."
92% - Xbox World 360 Magazine UK- "PES 2008 remains far more than a yearly update; it's the first true next gen iteration of Xbox World's most played game."
90% - VideoGamer- "PES fans can forgive the poor graphics, the God-awful music, the embarrassing presentation and lack of licensed teams because the core of the game is so mind-bogglingly brilliant."
Now I'm not saying that the critics will have got their PES 2010 reviews wrong, I just think that the above review show that they can jump to conclusions. They obviously thought PES 2008 was great at first but didn't realise all the problems it had.
I'm hoping that PES 2010 is like PES 5 and only reveals its hidden depth after a few weeks of play
