I have been playin ML for years, always on the hardest difficulty and with original players. its always hard to get a hold of players who make a difference right away. but this year, in the first transfer window i signed Veron. the man is a machine. very cheap and what a tank, scores from anywhere has amazing technique and finished top scorer, after only half a season!! sign him if you are struggling to score. what a difference the man makes!!!

any other tips on good buys?

One of my personal favourites on the last pro evo was Christian Wilhelmsson.

Yeah definitely agree, I actually started off with Veron because he is so cheap and has the stats of an 800-1000 points player. Also, has anyone come across a random player called Bag, English nationality, always comes up in the talent search > Centre Forward. Very cheap, but also very shite.

hes in WE united of summat is bag. dam i need a MACHINE, i hate veron mind but could of done with him,im sitting like 17th in d2 with original players,my its a challenge.good cup run so far tho. in the transfer window i signed rustu and ricardinho on the cheap from besiktas,hes yet to keep a clean sheet mind.and kobayashi. 1st players were adu,made him have like 93accel and 90dribble acc but nothing else so hes pap at the moment.and andersson,who is like 35 but a decent player. oh and some r paulista coz it was the last wage i could afford,if he can keep in condition he is good for cheap,not rated good and wont score but can get into space and create problems

It's almost impossible to keep a clean sheet in the ML playing with default players. It's also too easy to score really, every game I've had this season (6 or 7 matches) there has been at least 4 goals in I believe. That's not realistic, everyone else in the league scrapes a tight win, but I've won 2 and lost 4, but no match has a tight scoreline. Annoys me.

Pedretti (if you haven't picked Auxerre to be in the ML)
Claus Jensen
Friedrich
Donovan (Dotan in the game)
Kim Young Dae
Ricardinho

Cheap players to get at the start if you're Creating Original Team:
Podolski
Park Ji Sung (and other Korean or Japanese players)
Curtis Davies

And a good "Rookie" to get is Bos.

The best tip I can give to get good cheap players early on is to use the TALENT SEARCH function in the game, then look to see who has high probability of being signed. It's a lot better than using the shit players you get at the start.

In the first window, look for a 17 year-old English left-winger called Shaw. Growth is brilliant & you can pretty much put him straight into the 1st 11...

I picked up Mido v. cheap. Good if you have wingers as he can head a ball, but is shite on teh ground.

And he's good with both feet. I think he has 7 for both weak shot accuracy and frequency. I've made him captain for now, but once I get the team I want, he'll be used in the trade, but I assume he'll retire before then.
