They are in the Conference, and have only spent £49k since the start of the game. Newcastle are back in the Championship also after a couple of years in League One.

Middlesbrough were relegated in the 2006/07 in my game, and are currently mid-table in the Championship the next year. I can't see any sort of bounce-back from them in my game.

My Wigan team are suffering mixed fortunes at present - I seem to be doing my best to emulate Tottenham in real-life this season (i.e. you score three, we'll score four attitude). Which is fine if it happens like that, and (for example) I'm happy to draw 4-4 at Old Trafford against the league leaders. However, when you draw 3-3 to Blackpool in the FA Cup, get beaten 5-2 by Blackburn, and get spanked at home 4-1 by Arsenal - it gets worrying. Although my boys showed great character, by only conceding twice against Sheffield United. I did of course score four times. Not really sure what to make of it all, as it's all come out of the blue a little bit. No-one outside of the top four has scored more goals than me, yet I'm sitting in 12th.

Interesting that Yossi has two players in a Norwich Premiership-winning side that I discarded from my Wigan side for not being good enough (Taylor and Haestad).

Even though I signed Theo Janssen (£6m), Jason Koumas (£3.5m), and Freddy Eastwood (£1.3m compensation), the chairman wanted me to go and sign a "big name" player (he said he'd allow me to spend more than my transfer kitty. He arrived, for £1.1m, in the shape of Dagoberto. Came off the bench on his debut to set up a goal against Charlton, then opened the scoring at Old Trafford after 41 seconds. Promptly got injured after half an hour of that game, and is now out for about 2 months. Typical.

Anyone got a ready-made solution for my defensive worries? I'd like to keep scoring as I am, however.

Started a game as Racing considering I've yet to manage more than one season in Spain. I've got a shit squad, no money, but one man army Zigic makes up for all that. I'm planning on using my Parma tactic which saw Iversen score 34 goals in 37 Serie A matches but with Zigic in for Iversen.

Try buying some centre backs. Like Anton Ferdinand, Vincent Kompany, Daniel Agger. If you have enough money though. Or if you want, I can tell you where to download a wigan game. The game is on its 3rd season. If you want PM me i'll tell you where to download.

anyone here managed to make a small nation successful? I'm playing a new game as Brunei. After 5 friendly matches, I won 1, lost 3 & drawn 1.

It's really hard to win games, as my defence and GK are crap

On FM05 I won the Copa America with Chile, and on FM06 I won the World Cup 2010 with the Yanks. Nothing on this one though.

I started a game with Sierra Leone a while ago, but haven't played it in a while. Roughly half the squad is a Bangura, though only one of them's decent (Al). I stole the genius that is Steve Kabba from England. I've also got Albert Jarret to give me a Watford spine, but apart from those three the rest is really really bad.

Only notable result is a 5-1 friendly defeat to Argentina

I won Euro 2008 with Bosnia if that sort of counts.

Senegal won the 2010 WC on my game by defeating France in the final and Nigeria got the third place by beating Spain.

I've seen Newcastle and Portsmouth get relegated, as well as Udinese. Spain somehow ends up with the major international cups. Also Bolton, Villareal and Reading went down in my first season with Sevilla.

Gerrard wins the World Player freakishly often.
