You'll need to buy one. They're are some cheap ones around that do the job. I wouldn't spend more then 20 quid on one.

It depends what package you buy. Some that include games, and an additional controller may well also have a HDMI too. You'll have to pay close attention to the details given.

Just the basic console + 1 controller doesn't though.

Thanks allot ;) I seen a gold plated HDMI cable in Argos for £15

Is there any other accessories you would recommend buying for the PS3?

the only difference between blue ray discs and normal 360 discs is the amount you can fit on them. it doesnt mean better games or better graphics.

I'm staying at my sister's house as she has just gone away on vacation with her boyfriend - and incidentally they have a PS3. I myself am more of a 360 fan but it's a nice change. So far no luck in connecting it to the internet properly - not too fussed as his taste is quite different from mine. It's a great console as it has everything a console should have nowadays - slick looks, a comprehensible interface and strong hardware etc.

So far it's just the games that are lacking but in due time I feel it will be a very close race between 2 great consoles. It's mentioned before - the (future) games should be the main part in your decision.

yeah im getting kind of sick of shooters, every other game is a fps on the 360. every good game is at least. they need some platform games or something.

i have both ps3 and 360. right now i really have no use for my ps3. any game that has came out on both systems ive bought it on 360 instead of ps3 because they games play actually a lot better on the 360. i bought a ps3 strictly for pes but now i am really thinking about buying it on 360 instead. ive heard that the ps3 version is not running as smooth on the ps3. the reason i didnt want it for 360 was because of the controller because i like to use the d-pad. after playing with the d-pad on the ps3, its not really that much better so im probably going to end up using the analog wich is a lot better on the 360. the only thing i think the ps3 has going for itself is the disk size for future games but im prety sure microsoft will have an answer for that. anyways im waiting to see if there is any difference between the ps3 and 360 version. if there isnt or the 360 version is better then i will probably get rid of my ps3. the 360 online is defintly worth the price and there is so many better games. i dont really like mgs and 360 has a lot better exclusive games.

My opinion... If you can only have one console, 360 is currently the one to have, if you can have two, get a PS3 too. I have two. ;)

My reasoning... as far as I'm concerned there's only two games to have on the PS3 right now, Motorstorm and Warhawk. That's the only ones I have. Any dual format titles have been better on the 360, right up to and including Skate. There's a long list of 360 games coming out in the next few weeks, not to mention a healthy back catalogue of AAA titles.

That said, I'm not a fan of the PES2008 demo on the 360. Just feels a little off. I'm hoping the PS3 version will be more like the PS2 version in terms of feel. I guess we'll know soon enough. Could be another title to buy on the PS3.

Of course, long term the PS3 has GT5 (which may or may not compete with Forza 2) and Killzone 2 (which looks to be better than it's woeful predecessor).

Oh, and the PS3 pads are crap - the sticks have such massive deadzones that FPS games, and even Skate, are much more difficult to be accurate with.

Top grammar there mate. If you're going to be "blunt" then at least be grammatically blunt. Oh, and accurate about your facts. You were neither. The PS3 is a nice machine. It's currently a paperweight in my house, holding the DVD player underneath in place. Neither get used much. Hopefully within the next year there'll be a game for it that's going to bring it out of hibernation.

So you spent €600 on a PS3, purely cos you want to play PES with a d-pad!? Surely you shoyld have just got the 360 and a new controller? Would have saved yourself a few quid!

Yeah thats a tuff one, but id go for the 360, the games right now are awesome, Bioshock, Halo 3, Skate etc, it wins hands down, no to mention all the future releases like Mass Effect, Assasins Creed.

The initial set up is alot easier to understand to. So the 360 is the better option!

My advice: PS3 all the way, I owned a 360 before, but I'm lucky I sold it on ebay, after having it repaired twice by Microsoft.

Original?

Unlike others I'm not going to sit on the fence, as you asked for advice. I'm sure you can look at the factors for yourself, I'll tell you what I think you should do as it's more useful than me telling you the factors you already know.

Well having owned both with a similar reason to you, PES being virtually my sole interest in console gaming I'd recommend you purchase the PS3. I owned my 360 for over six months and found it severely lacking in the PES department. Then there's all the variety of games people harp on about, I'm afraid I find the majority to poor/uninteresting, I'd only say this is a plus if you're a big FPS fan.

The price difference is very small when you buy everything you suggested, then there's PS3 built-in Blu-Ray drive, while maybe not a necessity for you is a very big bonus. Unless I'm forgetting something the 360 doesn't have an HDMI output? I didn't have my HDTV at the time so I may be wrong as I was uninterested in that factor then.

If you want wireless gaming etc. and you can afford it go for a PS3.

Should include everything you suggested you needed, a second pad, two games and Click (Blu-ray) all of which can then obviously be traded in at Game/Gamestation although they include them in their bundles as well so you won't get a great deal for them. Play give you the HDMI cable free, I don't knwo where else do however.

i'd actually go as far to say your a complete fucking moron.

games will be better because of blu-ray ROFLMAO, ps3 has all the best games.. hahahahah ....what are you 10yrs old?

sheeeet if there was stand-up comedy for nerds you'd be the chris rock of the genre.

its common knowledge the PS3 doesn't currently have one stand out game you that can't play on the 360.

btw just because you type FACT it doesn't help your cause, especially when you're a clueless tard like yourself talking out of your ass.

back to the OP if you're interested in playing games i don't really see any point in paying quite alot more cash for a PS3 when there's currently nothing decent on it + their live service might be free but it's just as well because it sucks. oooooh we're getting Home (wow a glorified Second Life on your console yipppeee). I'm not fanboy i've still got an Xbox and PSX/PS2 and my Xbox360 but the PS3 is a total flop right now and anyone who thinks different is trying to justify their £400+ doorstop.

the PS3 version will play more or less exactly the same as the Xbox360, they don't customise versions between platforms generally.

the exception was PES6 which on the PC was a port of Winning Eleven 10 and played alot different than PES6 on the 360 which was it's own build.....but this year all 3 versions will be identical.
